A Great Way to ruin a perfect wall; My 400 Gallon Project

Quick help, please

Quick help, please

Guys, my ballast burned up one capacitor. I'm going to make a warranty claim for my Blue Wave II as it has a 5 yr warranty. Can you give me any advice where I can get a new one in the meantime?

I'll post pictures momentarily. This is for a 400w MH setup. The model number is readable in the pics. :)

You can get a capacitor at a local electric store, as far as I know. Just get the specs on type, wattage, etc, and tell them what you want. I blew a cap on my old hood, a and I replaced it at the LES for about 6 bucks.

Ryan, I tried to PM you but the PM box was full. You need to delete messages that are unnecessary in your IN box as well as your SENT box.

AtoT Lamps in Lewisville may have the capacitor you need.

Disaster averted!!!!

I had a bit of a problem today. The Cheato in my add on in line refugium plugged both of the bulk head outlets into the sump. I walked out into the garage and saw a water flowing down the drive way. I knew that I wasn't makeing water and overflowing as I typically do and ran into the room in panic. After some quick troubleshooting, I took the obstruction away and solved the problem. I have a bit of a mess to still clean up with water underneath the sump and stand, but at least it didn't happen next week when I will be away. I'm glad that this happened, but my add on refugium design is seriously flawed!!!!! (Please see previous discussion about the sump and refugium around page 4 or so).

My tank is really FINALLY starting to take off. I think I am going to rearrange my lighting after MACNA. I need to add suppliments. I thought that I would be able to just run MH's on the system, but I was grossly mistaken.

WOW!!! Just read the whole thing. I love your attention to detail. My tank (same size) will be here in 14 days. Thanks for letting us in on your experiences. It will make it much easier for me.

Glad to be of assistance. I was always proud of my "add on refugium", but now I can't really use it:mad: . Oh well!

Well after ages of minimal updates, I have some news to share!!

Here are pictures of the stand that Loserkidz hooked me up with!!
I am going to put a motorized linear light moving system on the bracket to move a 250W dual ended Aquamedic light. I didn't want to add more heat into the room and was excited to try one of these out! Anyway, I'll post more updates soon. I am leaving for San Francisco this weekend so I won't be able to get anything done until the weekend after next.:( Anyway, here are pictures of the stand.

Hmmm, "stout" comes to mind when I see that stand. And the acrylic work as usual looks incredible.

I am looking forward to seeing how you motorize the light system.

One observation, have you considered that spilled water and/or salt creep might be a bigger problem with the black paint? Not an issue really just the voice in my head hearing "clean your room". :bounce2:
