A Home for Ryan's 240?

Your explaining mechanical systems to a mechanical engineer.. And busines to a business man that was hosed by a partner for about $180,000 all told. I'm not telling you your wasting keystrokes but you can make some assumptions and type more funny and less filler Bud! :) We've done material handling systems for years and I've seen them in my sleep (nightmares). The better mousetrap and next big widget is a dangerous thing to design. Especially if ANYONE can sue you for or over it now, tomorrow, or 10 years from now. I've had hundreds of ideas I gave away as intellectual property rights of the customer. Now I just play dumb and give as little info. out as possible. I wil NEVER sell out a customer for their competition but if I can use what I know to help both I'm all over it like a fat kid on a cupcake!

Noted. Dont know your background most have to be hand fed.
This market is open and Im a whore. WHo ever pays pays. Thats capitialism. Competition is competition. You got the green Im your man. Loyalty is gone when my job can be farmed out to the lowest bidder on a Tuesday handsake at the local dive. Copying someone elses mousetrap with a tweak not my style. Selling a unique design which meets a needs to the highest bidder thats more like it. The only way to do this is to ex-communicate myself with my employer and build it outsource and test it myself. The only common courtesy I owe is maybe to let my Co. have the first whack at a bid and the first looksee.
Customer and employer not the same animal in my case, since Im a slave to the man I owe the man his due.
Im not taking his product for my gain and selling it to his competition that grounds for lawsuits I cant afford to fight. However, I think we both know there is not much in material handling thats re-inventing the wheel its all age old technology. Every once in awhile a couple planes kill a few thousand people and a new need arises. Im simply meeting that need more effectively with a new design.
I wanna be the fat kid with the cup cake well in my case a SLurpee Machine lol...I pick that up today lol..Just scored a Aquanetics chiller 1 hp today too. My uber tank need sto stay chilly. Got a blow compressor in it I paid $40 for it. Grainger has the compressor and one of my friends is an AC man so a couple cold ones and a Pepperoni pie should be the ticket lol..
:D

Sweet... Funny thing. My best customer now owns one of the competitors. Now they are sharing resources. Good for me! Woo Hoo!!!! Too bad they are 150 Miles away! D'oh I don't mind a few roadtrips but a weekly trip of 30 miles isn't worth much in my book (unless they are willing to pay me for portal to portal). Hopefully this time next week I'll be too busy to post! Don't take it personally! I'll still login at home :)

BTW, I don't mind being spoonfed if I'm ignorant to the tech. Re-chewing what I know gets pretty sleepy tho! zzzzZZZZZZzzzz KWIM?

Lol I got work coming out of my eyeballs too. Be drywalling up last weekends saw-zaw mayhem. Finished up the wiring and been admiring the substandard carpentry work for a few days. geezus contractors here are the worst.
I found like 800 sq ft of uninsulated ceiling when I was being pricked to death up in the attic.

Oh gee no wonder my AC runs constantly I got 3/8 of plaster between me and the 130 degree attic wheeeee! So I had to remedy that ASAP. amazing. They dont know what 16" on center is either Urrrggg! they feel that 24" on a non-load bearing wall is a great way to shave a buck off the build I guess. Bastards!

This chiller its an Aquamedic 1 hp you ever hear anything about that brand? I cant find a manual or a schematic on it anywhere online. Best I could do in the time I had was find a pic of a 1/5 Hp and a kudos to the manufacturer by a retailer about it being U.S made.
Thing goes for a pretty penny new too. Thru me for a loop at the prices lol..
My co. here the device I was ranting about , We havent even built one yet but the co. has sold 47 of them to various airports. I just saw a purchase order for all the stock. Thats the kind of crap Im talking about its not even been proven to work but they sold them. They dont know what they dont know. Alot of 6160 Al. in it that we outsource and have laser burned. tons of cash flying out for these things and we cant even say it works yet lol...Just a portion of the material 37grand lol....Im no structural genius but 70 # at 280 ft/min slammming into this thing made from 1/4 AL. I cant wait for the show lol..Im inviting everyone and doughnuts all around when we fire this up for the wigs lol...

Can tou say "catastrophic failure" Stacker can. LOL It's alot of fun watching salesman get into the a$$ kissing position for the customers.... they will try to find a way to blame the lowest guys on the food chain tho.. You can bank on it.

And folks winder why so many homes can't take 65 mph winds after they scrimp on materials and standards.... Hey, you hada live there! :) I blame you hahahahahaha....

Oh yea its nuts they get bit everytime. This isnt the first time they sold unfinished product to meet the customers request.. Penalties or as we call them (LD's) will bankrupt a co. in a heartbeat so our deadlines are just that DEADlines meaning the co. will be dead. Not just us anyone who works for the airlines. They can be as high a 500 grand per day if your the one holding up the opening of an airport your done. We had one for some programing issues was like $2500/day. You talk about scrammbling lol...
Hey check this out http://www.saniserv.com/products.jsp?c=4&u=2&p=33
This is what I picked up for free yesterday lol...
I got it in my Garage/Labratory. lol.. Shes stout got twin Baldor motors and a serpentine belt drive system lol...I didnt ask I just loaded it up and hauled a$$ lol...

When I first moved here I worked for a truss co. Mostly doing some statics and some wind load calcs on Commercial steel trusses. Not exactly my fortay or my ideal job but it was a learning expierince and I wanted to try something else after being a ME for so long I wanted to get a broader background. Civil kicks down here too and I wanted to break some new ground for awhile so I gave it a shot. Well our PE's sealed trussed for millions of homes and I basically did repairs and the above and reviewed truss designs for these catastophic failures your speaking of lol..It was all done thru stress anaylsis programs I just reviewed them a no brainer.
Long story short these houses down here are so tight on the minimum stresses that its down to the number of nails and the grade of lumber. All the roofs here are hipped and they are heavily loaded on the #1 hip which hold "hip Jacks" with 2' overhangs on those. SO the #1 hip has average 3000 lbs on it over a typical 3/2 house. Imagine 1 or 2 16d nails being the factor between you and 3000 lbs crashing thru your ceiling in a mild wind storm lol....I wish I was kidding but Im not.. Well of course the PE tells me we have a safety factor lol...Im like what is it he says 3x's the load. But my software would fail a truss based on the miter of the lumber lol...He was full of the brown stuff and he knew I knew he was full of it lol...Thats why so many houses here need roofs its the ole 1 - 2 up the tail pipe....

Post pic of the first frozen beverage.... I'll tip one here in honor of your new big-boy toy!

Housing stadnards her are pretty liberal but noone constructs residential on 24's. Roofing is a huge grey area and the good contractors are even cuttong corners there ... you have to spec everything and supervise all construction or take your chances. Even the 1/2 million dollar places are cheap sticks with pretty finishes!

Whatcha gonna do tho? <shrug>

No no I got a block house but the interior walls they stick frame on 24" centers. All non load bearing. ALl the trusswork spans from wall to wall but I still thing thats a rip off. JMO. but 16" is been standard for 100 years they just found a place to screw ya out of a 2 x 4 their cost is what $2.50 I mean for the love or Pete whats next?
they maybe , maybe saved $20 bucks on the whole house by doing that. What the hell? Cheap, Then I see they screwed me on the insulation byabout 800 sq ft. Th elist goes on Ive done so much to my house to cover the contractor cheap building I cant even tell ya. I did a walk thru when I bought it with the rep. to get a punch list up that I saw as necessary items I wanted fixed before I moved in. Door jams split, paint on the toilet, Ac return vent full of drywall scaps and dust, Uh the list goes on I had about 50 items on my list that I wasnt closing til they were taken care of. My favorite was I got to come back and doit again when they were complete. all wrong I walked out wasabout to scrap the deal. THey painted over the split door jams instead of replacing them lol...Im like nopethats B.S. I paid for new not getting new. Iwas a wanker but Im right in the end.
this beverage machine....Lol you see this is what im talking about . I cant do anyhting half way its all or nothing. The average joe he goes down to the 7-eleven gets himself a big guld slurpee hes happy. Me I gotta have the machine in my kitchen lol...Its a beast too weighs 400 +lbs. I got a great gig for it too Im gonna mount it to a trailor and do catering. I need one of your BBQ'S and a portable keg-a-rator adn Im good to go. Cust. buys the booze to take the liability off me. Im good pig, frozen booze and Im making money too how canyou go wrong? lol...Ill send pics of that first cold one..Im waiting for my parts to come now needs a few goodies to sweetener her up for the task.:D

Gotcha....

I could see a very cool all stainless Pig Burner / Bar / Beer Tender...

Self contained with 4000 W generator, fresh water onboard, a shower and ****er, sleeps 6... LOL

M aking a grille/beer wagon would perty cool tho huh?

Hell yes that would be the Sh@t. My thoughts exactly. I might just pull a permit and sell non-alki slurpees on the beach. Tow my machine around and I bet Id sell a million.
Think about that for a minute lol, brings a smile to me. When I was down in Key West last I sat on top of this bar Watched this pretzel guy for hours while I tied one on. Pretzel and a coke $4.50 from his little push cart. Id say every 2nd person bought one from him. Well as Key West goes mid afternoon it started to rain like hell. So he folds his umbrella up closes up shop and pushes his cart to the curb and walks away. Now keep in mind this cat has duct tape flip flops and some cut off short that looked like some jeans I threw away back in the 70's on. 5 minutes later he comes wheeling up in a brand new Vette Convertible with a hitch on it and hooks up to his cart and off he goes.
Now If I wouldnt have seen it I wouldnt have believed it. LOl.

Capitalism at it's finest baby! Imagine is you could sell beers or Margarita's and a pretzel... Woulda been a Lambo screamin away! LOL

Lol I can just see my Lawyer wanting to be on retainer to settle the claims from the drunken bumbs who beat each other up and blamed it on me and my Slushie machine lol.
Me: yes your honor they wanted Pina Coldas and Margaritas
Judge: You served it
Me: No sir just the machine no booze
Judge: Guilty by association (Bang gavels down
Drunk bums: yea we won lets go party!!!
My wife: You Dumb B@stard!!! I told you not to deal with drunks!
Me: Anyone care for a slurpee?? lol
End of story. Lol. that about my luck too. Hey your boy should be getting here soon shouldnt he? Its about miserable enough for a move. 98 today high in the mid inferno with a chance in hell it gonna cool off. Possible chance of more of the same tomorrow Extended forcast is more of the same til you snap possibly a 3 degree cold fron in Oct. lol... No really.... Oct. if your lucky.. If not could be til Dec. giver take a hurricane or 4 lol...
Sheesh couldnt wait til Nov. to move here when the bugs start to die off eh? Oh well I did it in Aug. he will be fine lol. In fact Im glad, he will get to expierience what I went thru. Kinda like a war story only ones who really know are the ones who were there.
My ole lady: its good exercise. Im like yea for about the first 5 minutes after that is like the Baton Death March.
Man trying to get this guy to sell me his Om 4 way. He wants a local. Whats the dif. if I pay shipping I say? I need that to go next to the chiller and the slushie machine man!!
Im done time to retire to my easy chair and put on my fun socks and scr#w it all for the rest of the day!!

I spent all night in ths pool lastnight... about 90 in and 94 out of the water. The beer was cold tho. Ryan is there! You will have to get togather so we can get the REAL skinny on his newest Aptasia farm.... LOL

Hes got free Anemones lol....That sux. Hey he can fry them with a magnifying glass til they snap and pop lol... Actually dont need the glass just toss them on the black top should dance for him nicely lol...
I think I drank 46 beers this weekend. I wish I were kidding but Im not. Just dont do it for me but man they tasted good and went down smooth. No pool here. i cant justify it working my hours and not being able to commit to this house Im in. One day Ill settle in somewhere eventually. Im here for the payolla otherwise Id be in S. FL. I got sucked in to Central for the job unfortunately. ahh who knows might have been for the best with the bad storms last few years they get it bad down there.
me I was flying trash bags in the storm drinking a cold one under my awning watching them fly away to China lol...We had our hurricane BBq and the neighbors over for the candle light monopoly. I didnt even lose power. Cable I think blinked a few times lol...Other than that I was off work getting toasted in my easy chair waiting for a cow to come thru the living room or something dramatic to happen. Never did.. I have all new trees in my yard that got pushed over I just went out between storms and stood them back up went back in and cracked some more beers lol..

I had 8 32 oz. beers at a B-day thing (and 6 lb. of snowcrab legs and 5 ears of fresh sweet corn) Fri. Then mowed 3 acres and drank 4 Molsons Sat. am followed by cooking for about 75 folks on Sat. and drank 8 Labatts, 6 Edenweiss (german wheat beer) and 6 Hoffbrau (German pilsner) Sat. I rounded up the weekend with 9 Gennesse's at the pool and finishing the mowing. I had another 5-6 lastnight... Now for 3 days off... :)

Lol thats sounds about like the perfect weekend lol. Man I go tmy chiller today. This thing is a beast. 88lbs in total Ill have to get pics. It WAY WAY over rated for even my uber tank plans. I think I could use it to chill Lobster tanks or something. lol needs a new compressor. No biggie (no pun here) Ill have a $2500 chiller for a few hundred that will last me infinity. Only bad part is the shrouding is all plastic and its taken a beating so Ill have to fab up some 12 ga. SS and redo that make her solid and pretty. No ugly equipment in my evil fish room. I gotta start documenting this crap.
I do all this cool Sh#t and the only one who knows it is me. Befores and afters blah.. As if my heads not blown up enough but be nice to show the would be oogler my miserably slow and meager beginnings for some ooo ahh points. Or maybe not screw it who cares as long as its mine I guess lol.
I think the UPS man is getting P/O'd. Everything he drops off he leaves alittle further down the walk so the ran starts to get at it lol, overpaid pr!ck.
1 hp chiller lol. You could cool ( 5) 300 gal with that. lol. Its huge. big as 2 computer towers from the Gates glory era.
Your a German eh? Or just like their bier? I have to admit Im part of the master race experiment. Proud of it too even if it means we made some questionable lamp shades in the day.
Im fond of the Wheat beers as well. Honey wheat for the tired stomach is nice goin down sometimes. I prefer amber bachs. Getting long in the tooth here just popped in for my email to tell the cat his super chiller came in with out a hitch gotta run.

See, we have no need for chillers for 340 days a year and only a small heater in the winter. So sorry, but I'm not too impressed with 'em anyway :) when it comes down to it you have to decide, is a fishtank for you or for bling? No, really! LOL

Nope, I'm Irish/Scotch but the Barvarians make the best beer on the planet. I have a full brewing setup (wine making too) and from time to time whip up a batch of my own Heffe. MMMMM burp!

2 weekends from now is a big boozefest... Called the Deerassic Classic We'll be there from Thurs. AM thru Sun. partyin' like rockstars! check out the stuf they are raffling www.deerassic.com Plus fre food, drinks, live bands and young ladies in bikini's selling gun raffle tickets all day. The 50/50 on Fri. lastyear was 45 grand and on Sat. was 96 grand. Sweeeeeet! I'm gonna save my braincells and conserve my energy for it... :)

Oh the fish tank is always gonna be about bling any pet is when you boil it down to its core. I wouldnt have bought this chiller but the deal was too good to pass up for what it was. Guy used it on a 500 gal display in a retuarant and it ran for 6 years until the compressor blew. They paid $2700 new for it. I got it all said for $164.00 new compressor from Grainger is $240. Being that its so large and over rated for my 300 + gal. ssytem it wont have to run so much which in the long run will save me a few bucks by not having a smaller unit that runs constantly. Its got a digital contoroler and its inline not a drop in which makes it all that much nicer. Shrouding is trashed so Im fabricating up some SS shrouding for it. Not my top priority at the moment. I just tore into it last night to see whats what. Typical Copeland 1 HP single phase compressor with R22. Nothing special. Chillers are so ovepriced its ridiculous. For what they are and what they do its alot of cash. I may end up selling it in the end and making a few bucks off it or trading it for some lights.
That festial looks right up my alley. I do miss the hunting up north, Id say thats one of the biggest things other than the food.
I used to hunt everything back home, here we got deer but they look like big dogs no 200 lb'ers. Got wild boar if you dont mind trudging thru the swamp risking a Moccasin bite or gator attack to get one. Meat is not that great though. Really need to use catch dogs pen them up for a few months and treat them with anit-biotics and fatten them up before you take one for the grill.
Thats what most of the crackers down here do. They use pit bulls to catch a hog and then pen raise it and fatten it up run some good grain thru it before they slaughter it to clean up the taste of the meat and get it nice and fat.
We got birds Turkey, Quail , ducks, other than that not much else but fishing. They dog hunt down here which is like 15 head of dogs chasing one poor little scrawny deer to death where 5 rednecks flank it with high powered rifles and blast it into swiss cheese. Not my idea of hunting at all. I cashed out most of my hunting gear for salt water fishing gear. Seemd to be the best trade off. Its a waste here unless you duck hunt then the Game wardens are thick as thieves and they got you in binoculars for one green winged tiel too many and they are confiscating your gear. On the other hand 1 Shark will feed you for months. Ive done well on the water here.. Kingfish, Grouper, shrimp, crab, Red Snapper, Sea Trout, Sea Bass all packed up in my Meat locker. Shrimp and crab runnning down here now. Might head out Fri and get 5 lbs this weekend. Too much goin on but its a once a year deal eithier you go or you go with out.

I make wine too once a year I turn out 40 gallons of red for the family. I just recently started building a working still in my garage. Yea I know BOOM!!!!, but I dont heat I freeze off my spirits so its safe lol. I got a meat locker in the house that fits a 5 gal. vat then I just pour off the booze and strain it out and I can make about 1 gal in a few months time of high grade good ole boy swill which is legal for personal consumption.
Been making booze for about 7 years now. I live about 3 miles from a winery so it almost doesnt pan out in dollars and time anymore. I have to make it in the summer when the AC is on to keep the temp stable otherwise it flucuates to much and spoils my brew. Never tried beer just wine and shine. Booze is cheap here too no deposit on beer and you can get it anywhere. I like a good stout Lager like Groulsch my preference but hard to find here in the sticks. I havent had a Labatts Blue or XXX since i left Detroit eithier. Iron City beer forget it. This is Budweiser country sonce they got Sea World I think they got hte market cornered here. you want anything special your gonna have to go looking for it. i found 1 bar 15 miles from me that has 150 beers to choose from but I rarely make the trek for that drunk.
