A Low Country Reef Tank....one more final upgrade

Seeing the pic above with the three of you standing in front of the tank puts the true size of the tank in perspective. That tank is huge!

Congrats again on your lighting. You now have no limitations on what you can grow. I am going to be moving soon and may go with MH's with T5's for my next build.

Thanks Rodney!!! I'm excited about the new tank and all new lighting! Where are you moving to?

A Low Country Reef Tank....one more final upgrade

Tank is in and on the stand! After having a hard time getting enough guys together to move the tank I decided to look for a mover. I found some piano movers and they sent two very very large guys out to the house this morning. I couldn't believe it but 15 mins later the tank was on the stand. These two guys moved the tank like it was a stick of butter!

One more picture of the amazing crating and the foam used to protect it

I will work on taking the protective paper off later tonight.

Steve: you should not be doing all the HEAVY lifting... and .. I am telling my installer that it took only two men to mover a tank larger than mine that needed five men to move !!
Cannot wait to see the "uncovering" and good Luck

Looked like at lot easier move than your last tank. Especially the moving it out part!

No kidding Mike!!!!! I was nervous when only two guys got out of the truck! but once they saw the tank wasnt glass...they put on moving straps and away they went. At one point there were no hands touch the tank....just the straps. They had to walk up 4 steps, thru the door and a few feet to the right with the tank.

I totally agree about not doing the heavy lifting Osama! I had a lot of fun fuilding the stand and putting up the light rails myself. I will let someone else build the fishroom in the garage and then I will get started with the plumbing.

Glad its finally there Steve. I know we have been having a lot of conversations the last few days. For anyone that wants a good chuckle Steve has been like a kid on Christmas Eve waiting for this tank. Imagine your best Christmas present you knew you were getting as a child the agony of waiting and you might be 1/8th of Steve. I am surprised he did not have milk and cookies waiting for the truck driver...lol. Alright Steve get this baby filled with water already!

Thanks for filling everyone in Henry....:bounce1: How did we get to milk and cookies when were talking about throwing turnbuckles at him because they didnt want to deliver it again last night :uzi: But yes, to say the least I have been extremely excited and anxious to see the tank. Its almost a year now that I have been without a tank and I really miss it a lot. At this point we wont see water in it until early July. We will be away for almost two weeks in June and I dont want to fill it up before we go. I have a lot of plumbing work to get done between now and then!

Myself and the guy that delivered my 360 got it inside and onto the stand by ourselves. Acrylic really is remarkably light, even at that size.

So tank arrives later today and I just finished my light rails.

I'll be able to move the rails front to back and slide each pendant left to right.

Where did you get the hangers for the channel strut. I never used the rollers that you had given me when I picked up your old tank because the bolts that I used to mount the channel strut to my ceiling blocked them. Now that I see how you mounted them, I'm going to reconfigure my setu.

I got everything from McMaster Carr.

Looking very neat Steve . Do u protect the surface while Aquascaping with egg-crate to prevent scratching or just rely on your standard of care. Is RO water ready? Looking forward to seeing it filled... Good Luck this weekend
