A Low Country Reef Tank....one more final upgrade

Thats pretty impressive for one. Im anxious to see what both will do. I can only imagine what that wave would look like with both running.

The only thing that has me worried is that Ive got the Dolphin 6250's for my closed loop. I think you said in a previous post that the FlowWolfs couldn't handle that much flow...Opinion?

Too soon to tell on that one Tony. You would have to reduce the outlet to 1" so you will lose some flow there. My understanding is the max flow that 1" pvc cans handle is about 3600 gph. You might be able to split the outlet on the 6250 and feed two separate flowwolfs.

That's a cow..a..bunga for sure:)
It is moving a huge amount of water from top to bottom in the length of your tank. You are going to rip the bikini's right off your corals without them even knowing....excellent! :hammer:

Thanks Mace!!!! Now you have to get yours going!!!!!

Lots of progress......

Lots of progress......

Ok I finished the plumbing in the fish room, took the new skimmer and natureef reactor out of the box, cleaned my ca reactor, drained the tap water from the tank, rinsed the dry marco rock that has been sitting in boxes since november and did my aquascape. Still have a few minor drips to correct with the cl plumbing but here we go.....

Looking at your rockwork it appears as though you have three sections. What if you kept each of the three sections as they are but moved each on a bit of a slant, sort of like this: \ \ \ ?

Just a thought.

I started out aiming for that but somehow got away from it. Im going to make some changes and see how 2.0 turns out.

The last 2 are my favorite. I was looking for a pic of the 200 I scaped according to this but I can't find a current one that I've resized and uploaded.

Anyways, it's also called the rule of 3's or thirds. The result is an appearance that is based on the symmetry of nature - so we interpret it as inherently pleasing

Steve: I like your dry rock as it has plenty of holes for critters and for corals .. I only used some dry rock from FL in the center of the tank and within few month it looked great like all the other rock. Advantage is no hitchhikers and pieces can be as large as we want them. What will u be using to seed your tank?

Looking fantastic Steve!

Woohoo! Looking good, 2.0 tomorrow?

thanks guys!!!! 2.0 will come in a few days. Im reading the links post by bud now and I will make a few minor changes. Osama, I have 350lbs of live rock soaking in a tank in the fishroom right now. That that tank will be put online with the rest of the sytem once the dt is full. I will add some raw shrimp and see how long the cycle takes if any. The 350lbs of live rock that I got was only out of water for about 5 hrs so Im hoping for a quick cycle but not in any rush so however long it takes to complete I will be happy.

Thanks for posting these links Bud! I will take a look at them and see what changes I come up with.

Took this one last night to get an idea what it looks like under the lights.....I will definitely make some minor changes to the rocks but want to see how the flow is first with the closed loop. I definitely like having the omni flex nozels from ocean motion so I can adjust the direction of the flow.

Looking great Steve, ++ on the monster skimmer!

I agree with having a large section of rock off center. In a photo class I took, they called it "tension". The eye and brain like it...

thanks Mark! I think what I am going to do is build up the center structure a little higher and bring the right side down. I have some really nice pieces in the rock tank that I will move over once I get the dt filled and salt mixed in.
