A Low Country Reef Tank....one more final upgrade

Looks good man! Now time to get you to get a big boy camera so you can practice weekly :). 70D is going to be your friend :D.

I do heating and air work I would put a vent fan in that room with a temp sensor on it to regulate heat and keep it out of the house in summer. It's sold at lowes or Home Depot for attic vent fans. The tank is a dream of mine nice work.

I have a portable ac unit in there that's vented thru one of the walls. It's a killer on electrical but keeps the temp and moisture in check. I've looked into a mini split ac unit but not ready to spend 3k.

Great pictures of a great tank. It's always a pleasure to read your thread.

I do have a question for you...do you ever see aggression among your tangs? If so, does the size of your tank mitigate the fighting? I ask because I have a large tank and am considering adding more tangs (although I could happily add less aggressive fish instead). Right now I have a yellow and a hippo. They do fine together. I worry if I add more tangs the chasing and nipping would begin. :worried: I do not want to watch incessant fighting and am wondering what your experience is.

I see some aggression from time to time but nothing serious. I went away for work and portioned out food for my wife to feed daily and Im guessing it wasnt enough because they were going at like crazy by the time i got back 5 days later. So, I try to keep them fed pretty well and that seems to keep the aggression down.

steve everything looks great!!!! congrats....are you still using Natureef?

Thanks Corey! I'm really happy with the way things are turning out! I am still using the Natureef and love it. I've only done about 4-5 10% wc's since setting the tank up about 6 months ago. My no3 has been holding around 2 ppm and my po4 has been .03-.05 which are my target levels.

Awesome photos, nice variety of corals and fish! What kind of wrasse is that in the last photo?

I like your white stand and doors, looks really clean. How do you like the white? We have been thinking about doing white.

That's a mystery wrasse. The white cabinets are taking some getting used to. My last tank in our old house had all black and I liked that better.

Well...three days of being sick, a brand camera and tripod have resulted in some new pictures. Still learning all of the features on this Big Boy Camera but I love what it can do so far!
