Ok ill confess im a roomba junkie and have 5 working ones and 2 for spare parts. Almost as bad as this whole reef addiction we all have. Wonder if i can get my roomba to vaccum my beautifully crafted curtains!

Oh yes it also comes in handy for extracting cats from under the bed too! Added bonus!

i wouldnt worry about anything leaching back in to the tank... is the thinner "stain" conspicuous? basically it "melted" the plastic tank and now its just slightly mangled... but it wont chemically leach back in... it did its damage and thats that... id still clean it some with vinegar etc...

as long as its not still "soft" --- sometimes if you take methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) on ABS it permanently softens it - and im not sure what happens with thinner and acrylic- but you may just dry grinding it off- and polishing the damage out...

im no chemist (so someone else may have a better idea) - but i have messed around a bit with plastics in that capacity at my last job...

cool that works i had water and vinegar running thru the return pump and sump and tank for a while and i had the face corals and everything in there as well

stuff was really bubbling and water was somewhat foaming but i ran it for a while now its drying then i will fill it and run it again in a mostly vinegar solution then wipe it out and just run freshwater thru it for a while to make sure its all vinegar out and go from there.

then i plan on taking the fake corals and bleaching them then dechlorinating them as well.

then i have to run the skimmer and the powerheads in vinegar as well to make sure they are all clean. soak prefilters. i trashed the bioballs they smelled so bad it wasnt even funny

sand and cc also reeked.

Keith, try calling Fiber Shield, they are in Yahpank, ask for Many Vickers, he is very knowledgeable in chemicals and makes environment safe products to substitute things like paint thinner, he mite have something that mite help you.
