A pic of my 75 g today 1 year details.

I do not know what caused the corals to die off, maybe stressed from the Yellow Long Nose Butterfly that picked at one of them before these last twi, I got rid of the butterfly a couple weeks ago.
My water perams remained perfect.
Here is a pic of my new canopy waiting for the Mh to go in, I cannot wait.
I stained it myself as best I could, I tried to match the stand, not perfect but it was my first stain job.

I just measured where the bottom of my MH lights will be to water level, it is 10". Can't wait to get it in place.

I just ordered three clams from Phishy Business for delivery next week. I will install my MH lights this weekend. I cant wait to see the new clams and the tank with the shimmer affect of the MH. The VHO lighting gives everything a nice color but its a flat lighting .

im glad you are finally getting your halides Tony! you will like the shimmer. it makes halide worth it IMO. your canopy is beautiful. i think my next major reef project is a new stand and canopy. i dont like how short the AGA stand is, and it doesnt help that the tank is only 21" tall. makes me wish i had a 90 sometimes.

oh and my lights are almost exactly 10" off the water also. that should work out fine for you.

Tony--

You probably don't need the encouragement, but I hope you take lots of pictures with the new setup! This thread has had some great photography and I hope that continues :)

H2O , I cant wait for the shimmer
ratherbe , there will be lots more pics when i get the new clams and lights.

I just got the ballast in the mail, WOW is it HUGE. I read the size of it, but I just wasnt expecting this. SO now I had to order the 8' extension cables for the PFO because with this being this big I need to have it hidden in my storage room. SO I just ordered them to be overhighted so I have them by saturday.

New canopy with MH is installed, it took me 3 hours to remove the old one and get then installed. I removed the old VHO retro light kit, removed the two center VHO , did a little rewireing , installed the 2 175w MH and now it is in place. I love the new canopy , so much more room to work, and I like the shimmer look a lot more, I even like the look of just the VHO super acnics on alone , more then when they were in the old canopy, maybe because they were closer to the water before and I had a plexi over the tank then. SO far with the lights on three hours they have raised my ater temp from 81 to 81.4 , I hope it doesnt go any higher. I only have the lights set to turn on for 5 hours today, and will gradually raise that to 9 - 10 hours for the MH.
Here are some pics.

wow... great pictures. :D
I like the canopy a lot. You really cant tell any difference in stain from the pics. Good job.
Keep us posted on the temp change. I am very curious about rising temperatures associated with the addition of MH lights to established systems. So far only very little extra heat added in for you. :)

I am about 40 mins north of Philly. I have never been to Hidden Reef.
I go to a place in NJ ,Aquarium Center in Clementon NJ. Its off the Rt42 on my way home from ATlantic City. But most of my things I buy online.
Thanks dood
JustOneMore, my temps so far have only gone up .4 at the most, but MH lights have only been on 4 hours, so we will see as I raise the time they are on. I ordered 4" Ice cap fans, just in case, should get them in few days to replace my fans, my fans are 3 inch and not that strong, but very quiet, so I will see how the Ice caps are.
