If I lived in Indy I'd sure give you a hand. I love the smell of Weldon 40.

I think Wayne has been sniffing too much Weldon over the past year....
They use WO40 with Polycast to make the cockpit canopies for fighter jets. Good stuff.
Tonight I got the bar coat epoxy laid down on the bottom of the stand so should be waterproof now! Hopefully should help lengthen the life of the platform by keeping it dry. Also going to silcone around bottomside of all stands and around tank apply the herculiner so it's more uniform.
Here's a pic of tonight's progress:

That looks clean!
Nicely done. How did you apply the bar coat? I can't see any brush/roller marks in the pic AT ALL!
I just mixed 1/2 gallon of each part of the resin and dumped a gallon in center of platform and then "squeegeed" it out with a spatula. I like the way it turned out and think I'll never have problems with any flaking. Kit was about $70 but if that extends the life of the platform and makes for easier cleanup, it was easily worth it!
Since the application of the 40 was not a structural component of the system - waiting the full time period is not as much of a concern. Tomorrow afternoon sound ok for a water test?Only question, how early can I water test?!?!
Man Dustin, this has definitely taken an interesting twist and turn for you. I applaud your determination, confidence and skills to be able to accomplish what you have done. I am sure many other faced with the same issue as you would have just walked away from the tank. Great job and I hope it is smooth sailing for you from here.

The smell *should* be gone by this evening..
