Sweet progress Dustin. I think I'm a couple hundred pounds short. I am in need of some shelf rock.

Are you going with shelf rock or the double cuts? I went with the doublecuts as it should be easier to work with when putting the rocks together, then I can use the single cuts to mortar on to make it look all natuuuural!

Frag tank looks good when can come by your place to buy a few frags

Btw-those rocks are going to look sweeeet in that tank

lots of great rock wish that in my country we could have all that supplies with just ordering online.. How many atlantiks fixtures do you would need for your tank?

I'm looking forward to the rockwork and having it going soon. As for frags, I've got a little bit of real estate to fill so might be a little while!

Yeah, guess we take things for granted here...And placed an order for rock on Tuesday morning and in at my house in three days! 5-6 fixtures is what I'm thinking.

This weekend I hope to wrap up the bulk of the plumbing so I can start building out the pillars and structures in the garage next. I'm starting to count down the day I can do a water test and tie the system all together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm really looking forward to doing the aquascaping and Paul Whitby is a great inspiration.

Great articles - Thanks for sharing the links.

Great looking rock. You'll have plenty to work with there!! Are you planning on cycling the snot out of it or dosing lanthanum chloride to minimize PO4?

My research has shown that the Marco is not known to leach phosphates and has a really great track record. What I plan to do is have rock/plumbing in place and then run on both closed loops and test phosphates out after a couple days. If PO4 is climbing I'll pump up to a bucket above tank with LaCl and a sock and keep at that until PO4 tests out well. Once it's good I'll add sand and open up the overflows to allow the whole system to be tied together!

Just finished up the rest of the closed loop plumbing and headed to monthly INDMAS meeting!

Once I'm back working on it I have:

1) Drain from tank to skimmer (2 X 1.5" drains feeding to a 2" input on skimmer)
2) 2" Drain from skimmer to sump
3) Emergency drain (2 X 1.5" drains feeding to a 2" pipe that runs to sump)

I'm designing so I can easily drain skimmer and shut off flow to it should I have pump maintenance or need to clean skimmer. Also after the above is done my next priorities are:

1) Getting Aquascaping figured out
2) Designing closed loop loc-line in tank around aquascaping
3) Building a tray to take in two 2" pipes and 2-3 4" filter socks for LaCl filtering

Hopefully I can have most of all the above done in next couple of weeks!?!?!?!

Marco Rock not leaching PO4? I don't want to scare you but here's 2 pics from my tank shortly after I set it up using 100% Marco rock. I didn't do any prep to this rock at all - it was well before LaCl3 was widely used/known in home aquaria (unfortunately for me). It was the natural cycle of the rock, which lasted for months. :thumbdown I would DEFINITELY take the precautions you mentioned in the above post. :)
