Cabin fever and Wayne has way too much couch time with that gimp knee. The forums are making his brain mushy!

Cap the support piping. It's just not worth the risk of having a place for detritus or little worms to collect. Your system is going to be set up for years and you could have some serious buildup in there over time. Cap it and reduce the potential. I realize this is a small amount of area in such a large volume of water but every little bit help. Caps are cheap and the fix is easy.....
