A Reefaholic's 1000+ Gallon Mixed Reef System Build

I think TapTalk turns off the allowhtml flag when it is replying.

I have seen this happen before with some of the earlier versions of third party forum readers.
 
I've been busy lately, some with work and baby and some with tank planning and ordering. I've got acrylic arriving Monday for the filter sock tray (Was delayed and have been waiting for nearly 3 weeks), just put order in for 6 Orphek Atlantiks, and have been working with Morgan at Inland Aquatics on fish orders. They'll be QTing the fish for 4-6 weeks depending on the specimen. Really needed someone to QT fish for me and they've been great to work with, and have worked with me a lot on this list. Morgan definitely takes pride in the business and has been more than helpful.

Yeah awesome list, actually gives me some ideas with my tank that's in the long haul bid process like yours :D

Not sure I'd classify a Kole tang as "semi-aggressive" but I guess you see it flash and rub up against another tang once it gets shoehorned into that category. I really am a fan of the bristle toothed tang family in general, they may not be the prettiest fish (juvenile chevron tang aside) but they are quite effective at what they do scraping surfaces for algae and what not.
 
are you set on 50 chromis? I've had 6 in my tank for about 9 months and up until about a month ago they were very peaceful towards each other....staying in their group. But within the last few weeks they have become very aggressive towards each other and have picked off the smallest one of the group.
 
That's their nature. I also heard that they knock each other off because there is no threat to them,(i.e. lionfish, scorpion fish, groupers).
 
Thanks for all the feedback. I wanted something schooling and thought they'd make the perfect fit. I have the expectation that I'll have to replenish the stock from time to time on the chromis. With the large number, you'll have better luck as the aggression is more spread out. If you have 10 then the pecking order definitely becomes more brutal....Really a beautiful small fish and I love a tank with lots of coral and fish movement. At this point, my grow out tank has good coloration, but with fish poo I'll should have some better coloration soon enough:)
 
Morgan and all the employees at Inland are very helpful and are always willing to QT fish.. I've had great success with them and the fish I've purchased there! Great choice

This Weekend's Project (Water Mixing Station)

Just wrapped up water mixing station with 2 X 200 Gallon Vertical Tanks from Tank Depot and a couple DC10000 pumps for keeping the water moving/mixed. Also have a line from RO/DI tank and SW to basement to do fast water changes should they need to be done and to plump directly into reactors to rinse carbon/GFO with a couple flips of the valves.

Another step closer to having tank in full swing!

Another angle. Valves on outside of each will have loc-line connected to them to fill a bucket for water/saltwater, etc...:
 
I have some reading to do in order to catch up, but the mixing stations looks WONDERFUL! Those tanks are so cool. You have also done a great job making everything look clean, nice cord management.
 
I had 12 chromis.....have 1 now.
However I was at Phishy the other day and I think they have some blue Caribbean chromis that truly school they say
