A Splash of Color - My SPS Peninsula Reef

When your corals look that healthy and colorful, I guess you have to do some cool stuff for boredom's sake, lol... Looks amazing!!!

Thanks Perry, when i was first planning the peninsula upgrade i was talking to my little mate Bello and ran my idea of making a big 4 foot long 3D acro dragon scape that looked dragony from top downs along with side on. Knowing how crazy Bello is i thought if he liked the idea i'd then go the next level and run it by my much less crazy mate Sahin. Bello replied ' yeah but you don't mean your going to make an actual dragon do you '......... words such as nuts etc followed so i decided not to even bring the subject up with Sahin and i shelved the big acro dragon idea......... for now :reading:

That is the real reason why there's a dragon in the tank, if i can't have a big dragon i'm at least having a little dragon ! ;)

Thanks Matt :) That is a really poopy piece of speciosa that hasn't grown or encrusted at all in six months, that is why it is now the tip of my dragons tail - it's supposed to be ice fire white with blue tips not light grey brown with blue tips. I have a strong dislike for that acro Matt........:deadhorse1:

This the same piece in the 65gal when it was looking good and growing, it's a stunningly beautiful acro when it's not in total shutdown. I cut it up after it started to RTN due to my constant water debacles and ever since it has refused to play ball no matter where i place it flow or lighting wise.

Now you're gonna need to put a red dragon's acro and a purple dragon's eye on there somewhere to complete the look right biggles? Man....The things i would do to your tank with a power outage and a few buckets.......
 
Mental note to self: if shaggs comes around for a visit make sure to count the acros before he leaves.......:p
 
Maybe ill have my cousin come over to do the deed before she comes over to United States for a visit. She lives near sydney ( I hope thats close to you.) She has 3yr old triplets so more tiny hands in the tank to make haste!
 
Dragon island is looking good! And sh8g8delik has the right idea with the red dragon and purple dragons eye. I had the same thought as I was reading your dragon aquascape idea.
 
Andrew that's a cool dragon. I wish i could just be worrying on creating something and not worry about keeping the colors on my acro lol. You trade some frags?
 
And there I was expecting to see more aquascapng videos...instead we get piccies...you're slacking mate...

Dan if you are trading frags with Andrew, I'll PM you with a list of stuff I want outta his tank...of course I'm not trading (just snap a few twigs when Andrew isnt looking)...you can drop them off in London during the short stop before you fly out to the states. :thumbsup:

Luckily for me it's a 9 hour drive from Sydney to Melbourne where i am and no one would survive that long in a car with three year old triplets......;)

Oh you have no idea how much I want to go back to a nice set of 20k radiums with some T5 supplements. I however remember the heat issues and the fans I had to run. The LEDS are so efficient and cool. Looking forward to some sand in your display :)

Your dragon scape island is excellent, you have one amazing eye for acro scaping! Careful though they might decide to take off, I hear the magic of the blue radium glow can do strange things to acro :uhoh2:

I'm glad you're having success with the LED's mate, the sand should make the scape really pop i hope :)

Hey at least you're trying lol, i take the easy way out with the radiums......:cool:

I tried to get a video of that acro but i haven't cleaned the back glass in over a week so it's a tad soft focus unfortunately.
