A Splash of Color

Looking fan frickin' tastic Andrew!
You're going to love the gyre. I predict a second one appearing in your tank sometime in the future.
I have a dwarf golden angel who has decided to eat sps polyps.. He's lucky I love him. Otherwise his tattoo wouldn't be 'turd' it would be a harpoon through his body!!
Can't wait to see the sump in action.
It should pretty much double your water volume, shouldn't it?

Yes mate. I hope your time away is due to you taking loads of photos for a photo bomb about to take place on this thread.

There will be no photo bombing until Dave makes my new sump so i can remove all the litter from my sand. The rescape of the left end has gone well but the whole color over white sand thing is ruined by frags all over the place.
When i come in this weekend Dave you better not show me a CAD drawing when i ask if it's built yet......... :hammer:

Sneek peek of messy display thanks to Dave...... BJ is awesome and as dumb as Moby so they are great mates. :)

The little spath loves his permanent home on the new left island.

I am going to spend some time catching up on my mates tanks and how they are going before finally answering the posts. Still haven't got triton results and just dose 1ml koral color each morning with a drop of lugols, no trace hard etc. I have started doing water changes and have done three 10% changes over the last week with instant ocean salt. I drop the alk dose to 75% on the day i do a water change as the IO is close to 10 alk.

I feel better now i'm doing water changes again............

Hi mate. Thanks for telling everyone about Perrys Cabbage Patch...you were meant to keep that secret. Was hoping you'd put in a quiet word with Perry... :worried2:

Anyway mate, how long ago did you submit the water sample to Triton? I would have thought the son of Poseidon would have delivered the same for testing by now...

Reef looks good. But your one or two pics per page moto is not appreciated. New sump is a bloody excuse not to photo bomb! :hammer:

Looking good Andrew. I have a couple of nice frags sitting in my tank for you ;)

I told Dave maybe a catch up over my place one evening soon

John

That spath is dreamy, it is almost as orange as you guys favorite soda over there ;) Orange flavor of course :) Cheers Andrew, the tank looks porn filled as usual!!!

Beautifull as always!!!

Triton results maybe given us the secret ingredient of aussie Biggle Corals!!! (maybe Koala's poo!)

Stef

as always looking great!

Cheers,
The Austrian :D

We all know you're an Aussie at heart, Flo! :)

Andrew, so, no more trace hard.. Just Koral color.. Hm.. 1ml per day.. When did you stop trace hard? With the wcs?
Weren't you recently experimenting with extra trace hard? I could have that wrong..
Anyways, looking SCHMICK!

Andrew, why you stop Trace Hard? What your worries? It's the Copper overdose? Or the Iron values VS the manganese doses?

I'm very curious to see the triton's test!!

Your triton sample, was it taken before or after you stopped trace hard?
This is not very scientific, dr. Biggles!!!

I took the sample whilst still dosing the trace hard, koral color and lugols daily with no water changes same as i had been doing for four months Matt. :)

The echi frag i got from Nick didn't turn red and blue but it has turned into an all baby blue from base to tip - i have two nice icefires and an all deep blue echi and they have nothing on this little guy. You can see him dead center hiding behind Ken's yellow with blue tip frag. Not red branched but still a one off color variant that looks like an icicle growing from the rock - stunning imo.

Nick - charge a bloody fortune for frags of the icicle if you send it overseas cause it's rather awesome when kept under our artificial lighting

Andrew why the change?
Water changes, I understand. There is absolutely no down side and really only advantages to the water changes but why the removal of trace hard?
Back in late 2015, when you started your Koral colour/trace hard regimen, there was a dramatic positive shift in your colours over a months or so. It was obvious. Since then, you have been able to maintain the great colour..
Why stop?
Are you worried about something? Have you seen a trend in your corals, lately that tells you something is not the same?
Expense?
Are you now just curious to see if the colour and health will continue without the supplements?
Just wondering about your thought process..
Oh and one last question.. What was your original dose of trace hard and Koralcolor?

I plan a while for triton test but never take action. Andrew just remind me again.

When you take water change back to you regular care, do you siphon sand or just water change? I actually thinking reduce further my water change to maybe 5% every two weeks with just siphon sand bed a bit, since getting age now :(

Hey mate just following on from peoples koral color and trace hard questions. You originally stated that koral color would not work without being mixed with something such as trace hard. But now you have ditched the trace hard. What made you think that in the first place, and what has now changed your mind?

Cheers
