A Splash of Color

I hope all is well with your Mom prayers for her on a good note your tank looks great my friend.

Top Notch corals you have there Andrew, hope all is well mate, with you and your mum, we all miss you around here ;)

That Red/green tipped Abro looks awesome. They were at all of the LFS around here a few years ago but haven't seen one that nice in awhile. Keep us updated on that one!

Tank looks brilliant Andrew
We grabbed the piece on the left, let me know if you want a frag & I'll get some on a plug for you.

Awesome tank man & you seem to have a minimalistic tank with very little rock & only a shallow sand bed (which I am sure is more for visual purpose?).

I don't think you have a fuge or grow any macros? Besides your skimmer, carbon & phosban, what other nutrient transport would you attribute to the success to your reef?

I noticed a very interesting correlation in my reefs as I went in & out of he hobby over the years & I discuss it in this thread. If you are finding the same thing, I would appreciate if you can mention it in this thread.

You have such nice coloration in your SPS's & I love the minimalistic look. For me the less rocks & no sand (bb), the easier a system becomes to mange & handle long term & less work it is.

Matt, Australia is really the land of acros"¦"¦..we are not so lucky :sad1:
So true!! :(

These acros look like some acid tripping coral fairy got out her (or his) magic fairy paint brush wand and just went to town!!! Crazy. They look like candy!!
Acro crack is what they are...
I'm jonesing big time...

Front left acro in the tank pic above is a very bleached acro that i ignored because it looked like a green with purple or blue tips that shipped poorly. Considering the color i thought it was going to be and how touchy it obviously was compared to the others i dismissed it.

That one looks an awful lot like the one I have, it was all pale and glowing when I got it, it looks like this now:

Pink Tabling Coral:

This is a stunning coral. I am jealous. I cannot keep/maintain pink colours on corals. I am OK with purples, oranges, greens and blues, but not with pinks. The only pink colour I can maintain is the pink colour on my resplendent anthias.

This did not used to be an issue in the past for me (see the picture I took in my second tank).

What is required to maintain pink colours?

Potassium and T5 bulbs is the combo I have and have heard of...

Thanks. Potassium is something I can no longer measure after Salifert stopped producing its test kit. Even though I have potassium supplement, I do not want to supplement it regularly without measuring. I told you my T5 combination in our recent conversation in the big T5 thread, is it lacking anything that causes subdued pink coloration?

EDIT: Could potassium sulphate (in addition to potassium chloride) be the key here?

I think that the combo you are using looks good, as for testing Potassium I was in the same boat, till I found a test kit that works: http://www.coral-shop.com/news.php?id=241

Matt, if I remember, you ordered it from Europe, right?
Love to find it on this continent..
Good for Bulent, though..

Thank you very much for the tip. I have just read a detailed review on this test kit on a UK forum, which is very positive. I am on the case ...

I think the company may be in Czech republic.
