So I have an acan frag and one of the heads separated itself from the skeleton. It took two tdays to happen. The frag looks healthy and so does the single head. Will the single head survive just like a mushroom releasing itself from a rock?
No experance with it myself but have read in other posts that it usally does not end good. Sounds like its not doing to bad? Keep us posted hope it goes well for you.
My acans did the same exact thing when I first got into the hobby. I wasn't used to dosing and my alk was down around 4 DKH at the time I checked. I bumped it back up over time and everything else ended up fine.
The acan frag is in a friends tank and I moved the polyp to my tank. It actually started to open up last night. The other two polyps have "bailed" on his frag. I checked his alk and you were right. Super low. My alk is normal so I'm wondering if the one polyp will survive.
I told my friend not to buy it because he has bad luck with them in general. I've always wanted to try some acans myself, but never thought my first true attempt would be a bailing polyp from his frag.
