Acer's new build thread

Ya my "photo-bucket" all of a sudden quit working properly - not full , but would not put any pics in it anymore, so I was afraid I was going to loose a bunch of photos so I downloaded them to my PC. But they are still in my Photo-bucket as well. I organized them as well into an Album = NEW 150 build. So, when moving pic around it probably broke the links to them. I did not think I made anything private - if you move pics to an album does it automatically make it private?

I don't think it does, but yeah once you move it to a different folder, it gets a new link, so you'd have to update them all in your old posts. I don't think there is a way to edit old posts (unless your are Misled :D), so the only way to fix it is to move those pics back into original folders.

And all of that is why I don't post pics on RC. :crazy1:

But hey Alex, how are you? Just talked to Kevin this afternoon.

Hey Jamie, life is good, I'm staying busy. Sorry couldn't make it to the last two meetings. Too much travelling lately. Hopefully this month. Coincidentally, my tank seems to be doing better when I'm away :D. Your frags are all growing out. Except that the birdsnest turned out to be green :). Still looking for that bright pink one.
Trying to stay in touch with Kevin... he knows I'm there if he needs me.

Ok just finished a multi day test of overflow system in garage. No leaks and water level stayed at 1 3/8 inches from the top of the tank.

Question: what type of valve will work best after pump to regulate flow and to allow for full shut off to prevent water from backflowing from plumbing back to refugium if i need to service the pump. Either a ball valve or gate valve. The gate valve will work great for flow control, but i have read they leak when fully shut.

Well good enough, since no one else chimed in - I have both- so I will go with the gate valve. Tomorrow I test the plumbing from the refugium to the pump. If all OK, then will begin cycling salt water thru the sump and refugium with a mag 9.5. Add live sand to the bottom of the refugium for a 2.5 inch bottom. Slowing begin transferring live rock and live stock out of the current systems into the refugium over the next 2 weeks.

What kind of return pump will you be using?

I just had to take out a bunch of Cheato myself - taking it to give away at the meeting Saturday - thanks for the offer.

Return pump from basement= Reeflo Barracuda.

New pics, this time they should stay. Fuge and sump, mostly finished with socks in place, skimmer will be raised abot 5 inches. Currently pushing water thru with a Mag 9.5. Temp at 78 , salinity at 2.023.

Nope, have to wait until i move livestock out of tank upstairs to access floor to make hole. Will begin that transfer this week. Ohhh ya, that salinity is 1.023 not 2.023.

O boy Ted, its looking good. You must be chomping at the bit to set the big tank up now that you are so close! This has been quite the build. I can't wait to see it all up and running.

Moved the small 40 cube fish, softies, and some live rock to the refugium for temporary housing (until the 150 is up).

OK- Jamie came over and we modified the canopy to fit over the tank 1.5 inches and to accommodate for the overflow system. Now I have to polyurethane the exposed wood and it will be ready to go.
