When one puts together a reef tank high dissolved oxygen and clean water is a definite given.

man I love the Achilles Tangs

I am setting up a used 180g fowlr and my hope is to keep a healthy Achilles. Can anyone tell me if the other fish I want are good or bad with the Achilles. Naso tang, Sailfin Tang, Flame Angel, Clowns, Flame Hawk, 1 Angel or Butterfly.

I saw that a page back, but dont think you ever said if it was "ich" or something else. In the picture the white stuff around his eye didnt look like ich to me.

I added one to my 500 reef a little over 1 week ago. Got it from liveaquaria. So far he is doing very good. Only eating nori w/garlic dried on it. And picking at the rocks. His little belly is staying nice and fat so far.

When you guys talk about flow rate what are you adding up, return pump plus powerheads or does your skimmer create flow? Also how do you get to 40/50x flow rate, what are your return pumps rated and how many powerheads do you have? Are you running wavemakers or how do you get a surge effect?

In my tank mainly sps. I have 8 tunze streams, and a Barracuda for return. The Achilles loves to swim in the current from the streams.

Did you get it from the Divers Den section or regular liveaquaria?

I want to get one off the DD section too. In fact I had one in my cart on Tuesday but by the time I checked out somebody else got it before me. Did you have any other tangs in your tank before adding the Achilles, if so, any aggresiveness? Also, did your tank ever have any traces of ich in it before adding the Achilles? Thanks.

Yes you have to be pretty quick for the DD section. You'll get one, they usually post them once or twice a week lately. Yes, I had a purple tang and a Sailfin tang. Not too much agression only at feeding time. I would add the Achilles as the last tang from what I have read.
Never seen any trace of ick in my tank. I hope you have good luck getting one .

Ah. I thought it was ick and he did get bumps a cple of times like ick so I had assumed.



Hey guys, kratos has a "fuzzy" eye. I am not sure if its an abrasion if he accidently crashed into something etc.

Or something else. I wanted to see if anyone had annnny suggestions or possibilities of what it could be.
I did a garlic. Vitaminc, iodine dose on the tank to start. Any suggestions is appreciated it! Danke danke. I will try to snap a photo. But those of us w an achilles know what its like to take their photo. Lol.

I saw this at divers den just 30 minutes ago. I thought I was one of the first person to see it. By the time I asked my wife if I should order it, I got back click on it and it said "sorry, sold". Great! Such a beautiful specimen too. Oh well, back to searching for the elusive achilles tang.
