Achillies and Prazipro

bobkill

reefer
hello all,

I am at nearing the end of a QT/condition cycle on a 3 inch achllies, It spent a week in a 55g learning how to eat ( started him on red nori that i rubberbanded to all the pvc then started to hide frozen brine and mysis in the nori) now he eating brine mysis and rodgers
12 days later
we are on our 5th tank transfer and last ( using a 20g Long) and i am wondering if i should follow directions on the prazipro, or do half a dose etc

I have in the past done this process on a chevron black and a black hybrid but am nervous for the achiilis

Anyone praz one before? escp in a tiny 20g transfer tank

attached a vid of him eating before TT

Cant help you with your question, but I love your fish, they have always been my favourite tang. Good luck with it

One thing to make sure of is that they require greater amounts of oxygen, prazi will deplete oxygen, excessive aeration is a must.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but can PP be used in conjunction with a copper based medication or should they be done separately? I ask because I plan on using a QT with my soon-to-be tank and plan on having tang of the same genus.

Please let me know if you would like me to move this to my own thread.

Thanks
Mike

They should be done separately

PraziPro and cupramine can be used in conjunction, but I tend to use one med at a time unless it is absolutely necessary to do more.

There have been anecdotal reports of Prazi being an appetite suppressant for some species. My bristletail filefish went a bit off her feed when I Prazi'd her in QT.

Just keep an eye on your Achilles, make sure feeding behavior is unchanged.
