Those dimensions are awesome.

I miss elegance corals. Are they keep-able again? Some facility must have figured out how to kick the bug? (perhaps this is old news but I kind of tuned them out a long time ago after EB's article)

I wish it was two inches shorter, I have long arms and can touch the sandbed but it aint easy thats for sure. The main problem is the inability to see what you are doing when you reach that far down, the distortion in the glass affects the depth perception.

I think the elegance corals are keepable again, I had one in my first tank that lived for a good 8 months before I killed it with my noobness. I believe there are alot of people having success now. And that bit about them not tolerating direct light is chicken feed I tell ya.

Im starting to see the first real signs of growth on my SPS, My mag is low so I suspect that once I replenish this and hook up the mag on the GHL that calcification will skyrocket. Ill take a few growth comparison shots later this week. Im having some issue with my reefkeeper lite... seems the controler tells the power bar to shut off power to a specific outlet yet the item stays powered, ie: the ATO, its flooded the sump at least 10 times now, luckly it is on cement and near a drain (the floor is improperly graded but thats another story) I likely need an update of the firmware so thats on the to do list now. I just dont want the tank to fluctuate once the controller is fixed. Im assuming the fan and the heater are also having issues with controllability... erg problems problems

Love the new pics Kevin! You should upload them in a larger size. That would make it easier to see all the gorgeousness??! lol Love all the cardinals. What do yours eat? Mine are keen on bloodworms but not much else. They are just too shy to get much in my tank with other pigs at the table...I have to feed a lot more than id like just to make sure they get enough.

Love the growth shots too. You deserve some success after the rocky start! Also, glad to hear about your back. Just so you know the main reason I had this fusion surgery is for decreased disc space. Just sayin. It WILL get worse with time and eventually youll have to get it done. My take on it was that im not getting any younger so I know my 31 year old body would handle the surgery much better than a broke down 50 year old one. Thats why I went ahead with it. also, xray is not so good for diagnosing back problems. Mri is the only sure fire way along with discogram(hurts like pooh). Good luck and I hope you can escape future surgery but the reality is that the back doesnt get better only worse with time...sucks

Haha thanks! Its funny the cardinals eat pellets and the frozen. One is a gangster, no fear swimming with the big fish getting a piece. the other two are very timmid but always out. The flame cardinals, I barely see them, always hidden. Ill make the pics bigger next time for sure, I have a large screen and wasnt sure if they would be too big for others to view now I know.

I hear ya about the back, It only ever gets worse. I know x ray isnt going to help alot. I think the doc just wanted to see how my scoliosis was progressing since it had been a year since my last xrays. If I get numbness in my leg again Im sure ill be going for an MRI. My issue is that my job is very physical and I am constantly lifting in awkward positions, jumping, climbing.. I really feel it in my knees these days but at the end of the day, I am use to the pain. I use to play rugby, competitive lacrosse, hockey and BMX biking. Ive lost count of my broken bones and torn ligaments. I broke my colar bone a few years ago and ended up with arthritis in my neck because of it. Of all the bones ive broken Id have to say the colar bone was the worst because I re-broke it 3 times! and when they set the bone before putting you in a sling you only get a tylenol 3 for the pain. At least when I smashed my wrist to pieces they put me under to set the bones. Also, not much holds a candle to dislocating a rib and popping it back in yourself, only to end up with a broken sternum.... Ouch, I still cant to any dip exercises.

Heyy Kevin!
Just came across your thread!
Dang dunno how I had missed it!!
Went through all the pages, after a rocky start your tank is colorin up nice!
Can't wait to see it grow out on those branches and looks amazing like that sketch you had made :D

Pretty neat aquascape!! And great score on those beautiful and cute frags. Must be such a pleasure watching them babies growing.

Read about ya back. Hm it's a painful condition. Important factor is dont overstrain urself and it can get worse.

Looking forward for ya updates!!
And thanks for ur encouragement in my thread.

Happy Reefing!!

I hear ya on the active job and lifestyle. I was the same way. I worked for over a year after I hurt myself and it freakin killed me. I'm an electrical foreman but I worked in the field too. Ouch no fun. Good luck man

Thanks for tagging along noob, the pleasure will be watching them turn from cute cuttings to bad *** colonies!

Chris, ya no fun for sure... but that doesnt mean we cant have fun! right!!! Im sure we would throw the best walker/cane parties this side of the hemisphere. Complimentary oxygen bottle for all guests! lol

didn't mean to kidnap the thread
