ADA 45p my first reef tank

This is a journal of my first reef tank. I set this tank up 2.5 months ago.


Specs
ADA 45p tank (about 9 gallons)
DIY 150 watt MH (made from 500w coopers security halogen lamp and ballast from ballastwise.com)
20,000k bulb
HOB refugium

The nightstand that it is on is covered by a 1/4 piece of clear plexi. The light was mounted into the plexi. I've been heavy into freshwater planted aquariums, I hope this works out well. My friend will be providing live sand. I am waiting a friend of his to purchase some live rock. I ordered a few things from autotopoff.com and am also waiting on a cooling fan.

Nice work! And im stoked that another person has done the halogen mod! Its so simple and easy for a first timer to do! That was my first MH, a mod to a Regents Halogen set up!
