thanks griss. I had Aiptasia before but never this big. And this is the only one in the tank. Previously, I had peppermint shrimp take care of it. Will probably get another one and see how it does.In case you’re not aware, they are pest anemones and can overrun your tank. Solutions are: inject with kalk, peppermint shrimp, Berghia nudibranchs (but these will starve if you don’t have enough Aiptasia), butterfly fish, commercial injectable remedies.
I’ve found peppermints to be hit or miss depending on the source. I’ve always had good luck with the ones from Reeftopia and KP Aquatics. Never had good luck with any from a LFS.thanks griss. I bought 2 aiptasia hungry tank raised peppermint shrimp and an electric blue hermit crab from saltwateraquarium.com. The prices are great and I can pick them up about half an hour from me so no shipping.I’ve found peppermints to be hit or miss depending on the source. luckily that was always my solution. any time I tried removing aiptasia by hand I just made it worse...I bought 2 aiptasia hungry tank raised peppermint shrimp
