My first saltwater aquarium

From someone who doesn't like a large fish load, I think either of those would be fine.

New addition to my tank, his name is Ruster

My Chalk Bass "Baba" chased Ruster out of the tank a couple of days ago. I found him on the floor hours later. I have mesh lids but either I left one open or it managed to jump out through it, Ruster was small enough. I was really bummed yesterday so I went to an aquarium store I never been to and purchased a Blue Star Leopard Wrasse. Not sure if it was a good idea but I loved the way she looked.

Can someone please identify this? It is growing from the back of my chalice coral. Thank you in advance

In case you’re not aware, they are pest anemones and can overrun your tank. Solutions are: inject with kalk, peppermint shrimp, Berghia nudibranchs (but these will starve if you don’t have enough Aiptasia), butterfly fish, commercial injectable remedies.

thanks griss. I had Aiptasia before but never this big. And this is the only one in the tank. Previously, I had peppermint shrimp take care of it. Will probably get another one and see how it does.

I’ve found peppermints to be hit or miss depending on the source. I’ve always had good luck with the ones from Reeftopia and KP Aquatics. Never had good luck with any from a LFS.

I bought 2 aiptasia hungry tank raised peppermint shrimp and an electric blue hermit crab from saltwateraquarium.com. The prices are great and I can pick them up about half an hour from me so no shipping.
