Advice needed: Upgrading RO/DI from 90GPD to 150GPD

I have a 90GPD membrane that I believe is ready to be replaced. I see that there is a 150GPD membrane available (with the appropriate flow restrictor). I'd love to be able to make batches of water more quickly. Is it worth it? What am I missing?

My PSI is about 50, which is a little lower than recommended for all of the membranes.

I think the rejection rate for the 150GPD membranes is significantly worse than the 90 GPD membranes. The DI media will be used faster with the higher rejection rate. The best way to increase the rate that you can process the water is to use two 75GPD membranes. I think the second is generally plumbed from the waste line of the first reducing waste water while increasing production. My understanding is that it i *essential* to have 65 PSI. consider a booster pump

Check the rejection rates . They are usually lower the higher the flow . Typically a 75gpd has about the best practical rejection rate for non commercial set ups. You'll use much more di resin with a low rejection rate.

It's decided. I'll go with the 2 75's. I'm also going to tie it in closer to where the plumbing comes in from the street to try to get better pressure.

Now for the next challenge... we recently switched to a front load washing machine and now I can't use the waste line to fill my washer like I could before. I'm thinking about storing the waste line in a brute can for resurfacing the backyard rink (if it ever freezes), and watering plants/lawn, and topping off the pool in the warmer months
