AI Hydra Settings Thread

Sorry, I should have phrased that better. Neusance algea. You don't want that to grow. So keeping it more blue with a lower intensity will help prevent it. Higher intensity more white light will encourage neusance algea to grow :)

so if i do higher blues and lower whites, what should be done with the greens/reds, and all those other color options?
Yep, pretty much. Red shouldn't be set to high as that can play a role in helping neusance algea growth too. But the spectrum will matter more when you have corals. I would honestly use the preset values to start. Keep it more towards 18-20k and under 70% intensity.

I have mine 10" above the water

I have those settings plugged in, I didn't have all the white options, but the cool white setting I have is at 45

I'm nbot sure what I should be looking for but its set. once I get the other two lights, I'll match the settings

It will make your corals happy and you see more color in my opinion. To the corals look my natural other than being blue all the time. I have tried 12k, 14k, 18k and didn't have the growth compared to these settings or the color I was looking for.

now, I have my sunrise at 8:00am, sunset at 7:00pm, and ramp time set at 2 hours.

should those settings change??

during the hours of 9pm and 8am, the lights actually never turn off. should they be off or is the moonlight type lighting what I should be seeing?

A question when it comes to the myAI app for android. In the upper left corner, if you select the three horizontal lines, you can select local or cloud. when I select each one of those options, it asks me to set the light levels for each one. I can't figure out what it means or what I should be doing with them.

Hi all

Hi all

Sorry if this has been discussed but i tried the first 40 pages of this and said whelp screw it ill just ask sorry if you have to waist your breath on me.

i'm coming from a 14 g bio cube that i had set up for years till the wife left the heater on to high while on vacation and crashed the tank. now i moved into my forever home so i opted for a big version.

its a 93 Gal Marineland rimless cube.

30"w x30"d x28"t with my single Hydra52 about 10" AWL. from reading the AI website it said the coverage was 30x30 @ 30. however here i'm seeing a lot of people say they don't get that coverage and i'm concerned that i'm under lighting my tank for corals and such.

should i add a second Hydra 52 or will this single 52 be enough for some basic corals and such. i'm using ziebos settings from the directer and loving the colors. When i had everything cranked up to 100 the day i bought it like a noob all my fish just went and hid. My butterfly even died that week thank god i hadn't started corals yet. when i asked my LFS about the butterfly he said holy (*&^ you have that cranked to 100% that's way to much light for your tank. i didnt understand LED's at the time. hence getting a director and coming here to get some settings and running an acclimation. but my problem is people say its not enough and people say its way too much... where do i go from here. Any setting suggestions or general advice.

Im very new and the first one to admit i'm dumb and don't have patience... (Wrong hobby i know). any help would be great

Here are a few pic so you can see it

I would say 2 would be best for coverage but I think you should start with 30 or 35% range with 2 lights and new corals.

It's 27" deep, and I only run my lights at 45% max. The t5 come on for 4 hrs and I turn the leds down to 15% whites only while they are on.
