Nah man you'd be okay if you stuck them underneath the light but it wouldnt cover the whole tank. You would have to raise the light very high to get it to spread that far and doing so would kill off the par rating when it hits the water. I juts set up 3 26's over my 48inch tank and that will do the job no problems.

I run violet at full power just like all the others, but white. It is the third to reach full power after the 2 blue channels. V, UV, R and G do not add much power. Together they are not as powerful as the white or either of the blue channels on their own.

Had a weird issue, wondering if anyone has had similar?
Came home on friday to find almost all of my sps to be retracted and lps not as fluffy as normal. Thought it was a chemical issue, gave it a day and no change. Did a 30% WC w/o improvement. Started to run carbon, and even placed a polyfilter pad.
On a whim I checked my AI hydra (original) settings and found that somehow my UV was maxed at 100%! I dont think I did that. Has anyone had this happen, a setting change w/o touching the app (using a director for control)
Also has anyone gone too high on the UV and recovered after? If so any recommendations?

They will be ok. Probably just ****ed but they will recover.

Not enough power in the uv channel alone to hurt anything. I have mine at 100% and never had an issue. It is not UV like the radiation from the sun more like very purple. Calling it UV is a bit misleading.

But for it to rapidly go up from 30-40% to 100 cant be good. I cant think of any other reason to cause the tissue loss and polyp retraction like ive got

It more than doubles the par from than channel from around 5 to around 11. It is just and increase of 6 units, which is nothing. The UV channel accounts for around 2% of the power if all channels are the same level.
Yes I did all the measurements with a par meter and made a table and all that.

Anyone else having issues with thier 52 HD units not allowing you to connect to them after a while? I set mine up (3), played with all the settings, updated the firmware and browsers, then went to bed. The next day I couldn't connect no matter to what I did. Router wifi showed them compnnected but nothing. Went directly to each unit via web and got the login screen entered my password, and then hit login, it just sat there trying to load. Ended up fully resetting all 3 units and started over. Got all the way through setting up my schedule and then bam did it again. Reset again and made the second unit the primary and the others the slave. Set everything up and again next day can't connect via app or online. I haven't been able to find anything about this issue, so figured I'd ask here. Sent an email to AI support, just pending their response.

Do you have the legs attached to the rails?
The blue channels and UV channel make them glow... I love having all blue for a few hours at night fun to look at all the colors glowing

Whew! Took me 3 days to read through all this but I made it. Very useful information in this thread. My tank is 30x25x24 I run 2 hydra hd 26 about 8" AWL. I mounted them direct to the canopy as you can see in the pictures. I guess my main concern is do I need to lower these a bit for air to flow around the units. I have fans mounted on each side of the canopy (1 drawing cool air in and the other pulling warm air out) it took me three days to figure out how to set these up but I've figured it out for the most part.
Now for a few pics of my newly started gem.
stole the settings for my setup but might tweet it a bit, I haven't seen many settings listed for the HDs' or if they are no one is sending any paticular color into hyper drive.
