AI Hydra Settings Thread

Did anyone see what the 2.0.33-r0 Director update does?

There is a list when you go to install the update. The coolest feature is the scalability of each color with out having to do it point by point. They also added control for custom pucks. Bug fixes, as always. There was a few other things but I forget.

This release also requires a firmware update to the fixture.

User Interface Changes
SCALE TIMERS - Vertically scale the active color using the sliders to the left of the graph.
DRAG TIMERS - Shift the entire graph line up and down using the slider to the left of the graph.
Miscellaneous bug fixes and improvements.
Light Firmware Changes
CUSTOM PUCK TYPES - Support for new custom puck types was added for the Vega.

I updated the New firmware for the Director and both of my Hydras tonight. I noticed that the user interface now can be scaled for each color...very nice and cool feature.

looks like i finally got my algae problem under control, it is no longer growing on the sand and has turned from green to brown on any rocks it was growing. I bumped my red and green back up to 15% up from 5.

10% is quite a jump. Or is it that you're a little impatient? lolol

Found it!

Found it!

I thought I remembered reading about red LED being =detrimental to SPS coral, and other corals.

I found the article and for those who do not wat to read the entire article is is a key sentence?

"In layman's terms, the study reinforces the theory that corals use red light as their gauge for light intensity and regulates photosynthesis according to the amount of detected red light".

Here is the article

What do you guys have running at night? I got my Hydra26 a week ago for my Biocube Mixed reef and at night I am running
Reds 16%
Greens 7%
Deep blues 5%
I am still messing around with it but thats what I have for now. During the day its
Deep Blue 100%
Royal Blue 100%
UV 80%
Violet 80%
Greens 60%
Reds 25%
Whites 30%

What kind of corals? how many hours a day will the lights be on?

Currently have both SPS and LPS. I have it set up on the season table, so the length of the day will change dependent on the time of year. The table is a copy of the natural conditions where I live (British Virgin Islands).

You are between the tropics, you do not have variations in your length of day.
