I took down my CFL's and cleaned the screen today. I put togeather this LED fixture, hopefully it can grow some GHA
Hmmm...over-driving the driver...I wonder if that is an issue?
I actually have neomersis growing on mine.
That doesn't surprise me.
What is concerning is where the neomersis came from.
Can you please post a picture for documentation sake?
I just cleaned it tody so most are gone.
At the water line their were several dozen.

Oh, crap!
I've had my new DIY 37 watt LED lights running for 2 days @ 12hrs/day. I have more green algae growth on the screen than I did running 80watts of cfl 18 hrs/day for 7 days. I'll give it another week or so and I'll place the order to finish the build. Thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way and to everyone who has contributed to this thread. I believe the ATS will let me take my tank to the next level, I've already seen the DT algae start to go away. The plastic wrap is another great idea to even the flow on the screen. I made it 1" longer and it controls all the splashing on the fixture.
Yeah at 5:30 this morning I was walking by the tank... some words came to mind that I cant say I this forum but sand was everywhere. Half the bottom was bare and the arch had fallen over. Fixed it the best I could, some corals got crushed. All fish seemed fine health wise, just a little freaked out... Oddly the sea fan couldn't seem happier same with the blue digi and green monti all open... So I don't think
My frogspawn of course under a rock and 5 inches of sand...
As I walked out this morning for work, I looked at the tank and it looked like a storm rolled through. I dont think I will have any issues, just some rocks and glass to clean off when I get home. I skipped feeding the tank this morning.
That's great news, cant wait to see pics!![]()
