Am I Overstocked?

ca1ore

Grizzled & Cynical
.... and insane .....

6 tangs - desjardini, yellow, purple, achilles, regal and chevron
15 anthias - five bimacs, 7 resplendents, and 3 bartletts
6 wrasses - a dusky, a cleaner and four leopards
3 pyramid butterflyfish
3 dwarf angels - flame, potter and a lemonpeel
3 chalk basslets
3 PJ cardinals
2 green chromis
2 occellaris clowns
1 diamond goby
1 yellow-tail blue damsel

So, 45 fish total in a 265 .... think I have room for a Regal Angel still

If you have to ask, you probably are. That's why I stopped asking....

Do you mean 265? You must. 45 fish couldn't even turn around in a 65.

Whether that is overstocked in a 265, I can't comment on that. I do know that you've obviously been at this a long time, you probably know what you're doing. And I know that I'm jealous - some of my favorites in there (Chevron, purple, dusky, lemonpeel, leopards).

If I had a 265, it would look something like that....

A reef tank isn't complete without a Regal angel (IMO). I'm still trying to find one that eats. Any aggression between the zebrasomas? Pics?

A regal that eats is easy to find - at least around here. All the ones I bought locally started eating right away.
If you are picky about size and where your regal should come from then things might get a bit more tricky.

How are they in reefs?

SPS are generally safe (aside from an occasional nip once in a while)

LPS might get nipped on and if found tasty get eaten (hasn't happen to me so far)

Zoas are food (or medicine?). Whatever they can easily reach gets at a minimum harassed.

But regals are highly individual and there are some that even leave zoas mostly alone. Others may just rip LPS apart.
If you get juveniles or young adults they may also change their diet preferences when reaching maturity.

To me it is a fish I'm willing to make sacrifices for if necessary.
