Made a simple frag rack for some corals I'm adding

I made a temporary frag rack for a few corals that I am growing a little bigger before placing them on the reefscape:

I'm looking to get my SPS encrusting on the reef structure as a next step.

The large tangs and a few blennys (tribal and stigmata) are constantly removing the frags and placing them all over the tank. SPS don't like to be moved around daily. I'm going to sell the large tangs and start over with some smaller ones. I also need to remove those blennys!!!

I plummed in my working frag tank and my calcium reactor. The reactor is leaking from the top so I may need a new o ring for the top. I also need to build a 10" stand for the frag tank to sit on to raise it up a little so it will drain better. The frag tank is removable so I can set it up in line with the main system when fragging corals and disconnect it when I'm done. It's only about 22 gallons so its easy to move around...

Check out all the offspring...the white one to the left of the large one is the most recent addition

It was sold to me as a dussumieri tang. He is awesome and huge. He also eats like a pig!

I have an opportunity to sell all the big tangs to be placed in a retail stores 16,000 gallon fish only tank here in Salt Lake City. They will love it and I will have a few bucks to recycle into the madness!

I will replace the large tangs with others that are smaller and give the reef a chance to grow before letting "the bulls run through the china shop" so to speak.

Sweet. I just got a bariene and a dussumieri is definitely on the list. I just love the colors on both those tangs. My bariene likes to hang with female blonde naso. Hope the male doesn't get jealous. Thanks for the ID.

Newbie Aquarist - I love the bariene tang as well! Good choice! Hope those work out well in your sweet reef!

dotcommer - My Sohal has played nice from the beginning. I bought him when he was small and he has always had a good temper. I have had others in the past that ruled the tank. Thanks for asking.

jarvasio - Thanks for checking out the tank. It has been a fun one to build out.

EsrefCAN - Thanks! Queen angel was eating corals so he went to the sump for a season. Now he is in a 16,000 gallon commercial aquarium here in Salt Lake City. Thanks for the kind wishes.

Dellyjoe - Thanks for checking out the thread!

Tons of cool stuff going on

Tons of cool stuff going on

I sold all of my large tangs and 22 other fish to a new commercial 16,000 gallon tank here in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Replaced the big tangs with some smaller more unique tangs including a hybrid mimic, clown, blue spine unicorn and copperband butterfly.

Fired up the MRC dual chamber calcium reactor but it's leaking out of the top. I may need a new O Ring.

Added a 22 gallon removable utility frag tank.

Sold my 150 frag tank in preparation for a 100 gallon that will fit better in the fish/filter room. (60"x30"x12")

Pics to follow...

Thanks for the heads up! I tried again for a fourth and fifth time today and I think I got it to stick or seal. I'll check on it a few times today to make sure. Fingers crossed...

Time for some SPS!

Something else I've heard but haven't tried myself is to use some petroleum jelly on the O Ring, it helps it seat better, if you are still having trouble you might want to research that as an option too.
