Anderson Family Reef - 1200 Gallon System

My pleasure! I totally understand!

I have been very careful with dipping and quarantining all the corals that have gone into the big tank. (I lost everything due to AEFW's in the past)

I also found that many yellow coris wrasses help in the bug battle as well if something were to get through. (I have 8 of them in the 750)

Don't suppose you have any ideas on asterina starfish, I have them in my tank now and I don't want to bring them to the new tank if I can avoid it.

Here is the list of SPS I added recently

Very nice and LARGE tank !! Good work all around. Someday I too hope to own a big dog. Probably won't be this big though...jajajajajajaja. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks I was hoping for some other solution as I wanted to have some other stars in the tank.

Wow that list is long, didn't realize you had that many frags in those coolers, that's awesome.

Maybe you could run the Harley's for the first few months to clean up all the asterina starfish then move them to the sump or lease them out to your fish buddies. Then introduce the other stars you would like to keep to the main display...

Thanks, I'm leaning toward putting all the rock and coral I want to keep from the 180 in a 70 for a couple months while I get the big tank ready, that way I can do the Harley's there and see how it goes when I move everything to the big tank sell off the Harley's.

Thanks again and sorry to "steal" the thread there for a bit.

That's a great plan! I did a similar thing with the rock from my 210 and I'm glad I took that step to clean the rock of most pests before introducing it to the 750.

No worries, thanks for the chat!

Impressive list of additions. Those are gonna be some sweet colonies. Looking awesome as always. I check on your updates weekly and drool LOL.

Incredible build! You seem to have a true passion for this wonderful hobby. Thank you for posting the information on where you obtained the strainers. I first saw them on Peter's (nineball) tank and when I asked him about them he couldn't remember where he bought them.

Thanks for taking us along on your journey.

Hi everyone I just wanted you all to know that I've been reefing with Dave for about 4 years now and he has one of the biggest reefs in Utah. His system is amazing in person as well he helped me set up my current 210 reef. I'm proud to give him huge props for his plumbing skills as well as his knowledge of the hobby not to mention this system will be SPS dominated which takes skills to master. Way to go Dave look forward to seeing all the new additions grow into colonies.
