anemone nuked the tank

large anemones

large anemones

my gig almost stretches from one side to the other of my 2ft. wide 220.

It would be nice to have a 36" x 36" area to keep a mag. Large anemones with large flowing tentacles are a recipe for disaster in small aquariums.

Sorry about you mishap. Big anemone need big tank. Either sell him or get a larger tank. My 16 inches Gigantea is getting too large for my 65 g tank, so I took him out to a 30 inch cube, about 100 g tank. Square tanks are much better for anemones.

Looking to make a island in the middle,so maybe I can keep it for awhile longer,I know I said I didn't want anymore but they really set a tank off. This set up will only have about 50 to 60 lbs of liverock.

Thats why I cant wait for my 48"x48" cube. I like big nems I can not lie. And need to give them room to roam and stretch. I'm also heading your warning and looking to install a large return pump so I will hopefully reduce or negate the need to use powerheads.

I agree - nothing quite as impressive as a big anemone with a pair of clownfish. I guess I have been lucky over the years to have not yet had a mishap. My current worry is that at only 18 inches wide, my 90 will quickly get to tight for my Mag. Would love to go with one of those Marineland 300DD tanks, but don't really have the space - and would worry a bit about the weight.

update on the mag,it has healed and eating .The tentecles that got caught in the powerhead are starting grow back.Plumbing is done and start filling with water today.
