I'm getting a carpet anem from a local reefer who has had it for months now in a few wks (possibly sooner) I have a 10g with egg rate, a light a heater and a HOB filter and a piece of LR if needed and power heads. My question is what to put on the bottom of the tank if anything since I don't want the anem to attach to the glass if possible. I also am going to proactively treat the carpet with cipro or levo just to be safe, is this advisable? My DT has been setup now over a yr and some of the rock in the tank is going on 7 yrs now from previous set ups. Those who keep them successfully tell me how you QT and what has made you successful with them? Also my DT has a lot of flow (160x turn over) via closed loop with penductors thru 2-2" bulkheads with strainers that don't have a lot of suction power to them since I have two and they are oversized. Should the CL be turned off until the anem finds its spot in the tank? Other issue is at night the CL turns off and my MP60 comes on to provide less flow in the tank but I am more worried about the MP chopping the anem up then the CL. I guess I'm just not sure if the anem will settle in a spot if I don't turn the CL off? Thoughts
