so i have had mr bubble tip rose anemone for 1 day and i came home to find it split is this bad or good?
my lighting= one par38 20000k 80 degree optics nanotuners
one rapid led 20000k 80 degree par 38
salinity= 1.024 according to my hydrometer?
please help
Reproduction (sexual and asexual) is sometimes triggered in anemones when you change their environments. In some cases this can be bad (ie a last gasp before it dies) but in other cases it is nothing to worry about. It all depends on how the anemone is doing AFTER it tries to reproduce.
I agree with BonsaiNut. It's rather common for them to split when changing tanks. As long as your parameters are good, lighting good, and it remains in good color, you should be just fine. It's when a split becomes bleached, doesn't inflate, hides for weeks in the rocks that you should get concerned.
I have the bubble tip, i love it. I notice its growing ever since I've been feeding the little guy twice a week. I just joined this forum and it's awesome. so much great information and so many folks helping others out.
