ok ill let the pic do the talking for the most part. BUt iv had a starburst Anemone for about 2 months now and its gone down hill :( soo after about about 2 weeks it moved all over the tank just to move right back on it's island but has lost his color and now arms.

now its only getting worse

i feed it once a week either small sliver sides or half a cube of mysis

hmmm nitrates and such in check? also the moving around is probably meaning hes not happy with your lighting i would assume, i know mine did that when i had bad lighting. when i upraded to my MH's it grew like mad. what do you use for lighting?

nitrates are at 0 and im currently running a 150 Watt mh

should i try moving it up ?? so it will get more light, and flow ?

kinda looks like it lost a fight with a powerhead to. do you have them covered?

That is what I was thinking too, the one side looks like it is healing.

which is it moved all over tank? or just stayed on its island? it can realse be in powerhead and then back to its island before you know it.

It moved all over the rock for a few days. And the arms seamed to melt off about 2 weeks after this. I moved it to more light last night so I'm hoping it likes its new spot

How often are you feeding it? Since I moved my BTAs to a higher flow tank they seem to need to be fed more often. If I slack on the feedings, the tentacles get stubby like that faster than I ever would have thought. When I step up feedings, they get back to normal.

Looks to me like it ran into somebody that wasn't so nice. Maybe a soft coral???? If there are no corals or anemones close to it now and you keep the system clean, I'd bet it recovers in time. Just looks like a battle wound to me.

i dont know if this is a good thing to feed them or not... but i do and my sebae loves it.... but the little frozen bags of shrimp from ***mart. i give mine 1-2 a week and u get a bag of like at least 50 for around 5 bucks

You can feed them any meaty thing cut into small pieces (like the size of an eraser on a no. 2 pencil). I give mine shrimp, squid, krill, scallops, and occasionally silversides. If it won't take those foods, you could try frozen mysis.

I just pick up frozen Krill from my LFS. I don't use sliversides anymore, about a year ago I fed some to a 3 week old (( with me )) anemone, the next morning it was dead. Have no proof it was the sliversides, but sure seems like it to me.

I buy seafood from the grocery store and mix it together after I cut it up really fine. Shrimp, scallop, fish, squid, clam, and whatever else I can find. Just freeze it into thin sheets and break off chunks as you need to.
