I was wondering what kind of anenome splits, why they split, and how to get them to split if possible

Bubble tips will readily split if you give them proper care and have good husbandry. You cannot make them split.

How you take care of the tank. Regular maintenance, nutrient control, feeding, and providing the right habitat.

I have an RBTA that I got at the end of May from a split. It was three weeks old when I got it. Every 3 or 4 days I give it a little bitty piece of minced raw clam or shrimp. This week it split for the first time. They split to reproduce and will only split if they are happy with how you are caring for them. Don't try to move it, let it live where it wants in your tank, feed it a couple of times a week and just wait. That's it. But they like their tank parameters stable and reasonable water changes.

They can also split if things are going bad for them - sort of a shotgun approach to survival.

Years ago I had a RBTA and then one day it was MIA. Didn't see it again until I upgraded to a larger tank - it had gone in back of the rockwork and had become 8 smaller ones.

Lol, perhaps this is a lesson in making sure the flow on the back of your tank is not more desirable than the display area
