I've been using Long Island Soda Systems on Lincoln Ave in Bohemia, but when I went there yesterday, they were gone from that location. I called them and got an answering machine, so I'm assuming that they're still in operation, somewhere.
They have not responded to my message though, so I can't confirm that they are still in business, and I need CO2.
I do know of a place in Queens, right off Merrick Blvd. I guess that would be Springfield Gardens. I hesitate to go there though, as I have a business relationship with them, and they don't charge me. In most cases, free is great, but I don't feel right about it here.
So, I work in Ronkonkoma and live in south west Nassau, anything in between would be great. Where are you filling your tank at?

Larry, I have used Airweld in Patchouge on Rt 112, but they usually want you to leave your tank. But if you need it right away there is a place in North Bay Shore called Triweld. They have hours on Saturday too.

It's on 2nd Ave, I believe.

James, Isn't Airweld on Waverly ave? Just south of sunrise hwy. This is where I get my tanks and I just exchange tanks. If you have your own tank James is right you have to leave it.

My bad, your right Walter. CC is on 112.

What Walter said Larry.

Yeah, I have aluminum 10 and 5 pounders. They don't have exchanges for them.

I used to have my own aluminum 10LB tank and an aluminum 5LB tank. The guy at LI soda systems talked me into swapping out my 10LB tank, but I always insisted on getting back my own 5LB. tank.
I'm willing to do the swap thing with the larger tank. I'll try Triweld in Bayshore on Monday. I've been paying $25.00 to fill the 10LB tank, is that about what I should expect to pay at Triweld?

That beats $25.00. Too bad nobody answers the phone there. Maybe everyone goes to lunch at the same time?

Larry,
I used A welding shop just west of the LIE & Jericho Tpke.
North side of Jericho just past Hess. I think it was Clinton, just exchanged the old for a new.

I'll make it 'till Monday, and I think I'll try Triweld first. I've been down that stretch of Jericho Tpke more times than I can count, but don't know the shop you're talking about, Vinny. I'll keep my eyes open the next time I go through there.
I still need someone that will refill and return my little tank to me. I bought that one new and recently had it hydro tested. I don't want to do the exchange thing with that tank.
There's also a fire extinguisher guy on the north side of Vet's Hwy that I just remembered. I dropped the tank empty and picked it up later. His price was crazy though, $25.00 for the 5LB tank 5 or more years ago.

FTR, Long Island Soda Systems called me back. They moved to 11 Evergreen Ave in Patchogue, south of Montauk Hwy, just east of 112.

Clinton Welding is where Vinny said. :) Its right next to the Edgewood Motel on Jericho TPK in Westbury or could be Jericho

This is where I usually go. They refill my tank and don't require me to exchange it. I would definitely be interested in a place that was further east that was open on the weekend.
