Any chance in saving this moon?

I picked up this small frag from TFP yesterday. It seems to be a bit bleached/ going whitish and then it looks like tissue is fallin off. It was only $9.99 for this little guy. It was under strong Mh lighting, 400w or so. Could the lighting have been what is stressing it out?

Could have been something with there water parameters or the lighting...for the most part looks like you can bring it back

Thanks ILLiDaN!

That is good to hear. I have been reading and some say once a coral starts to bleach, it MAY never stop. I was just curious.

Lets hope that my pristine water condition will bring it back.

I have some more questions?

How long do you think it might take? A month? 2? Can I target feed it to help it along in its recovery? If so, what do you recommend?

Thanks in advance....

Brad

You can definitely bring that back. I've bought coral with just a piece of flesh the size of a dime and completely brought it back. If there is a spec of flesh on any coral, the question is..can you(anyone) maintain proper water parameters and lighting to successfully nurse this coral back to health.

Yeah, my bet is that you can bring it back...Bought a sun coral that had three color species on it (black, yellow, and orange) all connected with just a few polyps of each....

I will try my best! :)

I have it placed on the sandbed for now. Do you think it should be higher? I have multi-levels on my rockwork for it.

Also can someone suggest something to feed it, so I can give it the best chance at recovering? OR are the Mh's enough to bring it back?

TIA guys!

Brad
