Any one know VikeBron (username)

I don't really have too much to add to this thread but I wanted to comment on the "closing of the shop". I know I'm not alone in the belief that it wasn't because of him moving to Minnesota. The store rarely had people in it. The livestock was the same stuff for months at a time. And he gave me the impression that it was only for a short bit of time....so why would you sell everything at a lose instead of keeping the place open and having someone you trust run it? I think it was just an excuse(not saying it wasn't true) to get out of business. Also never really made any sense why he would just go ahead and sell some of his stuff from home while he was at it. The whole scenario just seemed odd.

On a side note, we are running out of LFS's up north. We need someone to open a freakin' store. I was disappointed when that Gardens of the Sea store never opened.

+1 on that

I was in D&G the other day and noticed that they are starting to carry more corals so that might be a start.....

Doubtful. That place has been around forever and I don't think the owners have ANY desire to update their technology or change their ways. They've made some baby steps, but I seriously doubt they'll start carrying better corals(ohhhh, mushrooms, yay) or equipment. They'd have to change the store set up dramatically to carry a decent selection of corals.

AquaCultured Acropora Frags, Chalices,, Acans, Montis, Favia and Favites, Zoas, Euphyllia, etc.

I see what you mean, hardly anything to pick from... :)

So that's what they have or are planning to have? If it's what they have right now, most of those acro's probably aren't looking too good since there's one tank in the entire store that has anything other than flourescent lights on it. If they are carrying more I'd be impressed. But if that's the plan then they seriously need to up the equipment level that they have. They have a few tanks with a hang on skimmer and that's it.

Yep I was in there the other day and that's what they had on little frag stands in the 1 tank with MH. They just got them in so they weren't colored up but I think it's a good start. I don't know if they are going to have full blown frag tanks (doubtful)(In this area, nobody is going to touch Josh as far as selection) but what they have is priced to sell.

i was in there too. they are taking baby steps. they have acans(single polyps), yes. they have favias, yes. they even have some acros. they are still pulling their stupid sale crap though. do they think we are stupid? they have their frags marked with these little color coded zip-tie bits. the chart is permanently attached to the glass with stupid prices. this is an example(it may not be 100% accurate but close):yellow tab=$99.99 -on sale for $49.99. it continues on like that until the frags get down to $10. JUST GIVE THE REAL PRICE FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE. they have done that with their fish for years. even though i buy livestock from them every once in a while, i still think that it is a used car lot tactic that is embarrasing. they really dont have any place to put any real amount of frags. i think i counted 20 frags altogether. the 150w bulb above the top coral tank probably needed to be changed 5 years ago. the corals all get brown and i have seen many dead, empty clam shells in there(they put the clams on the bottom of the tank). i have chatted with some of the people in there and they seem to feel like their hands are tied when it comes to bringing corals and frags in. the owner seems to be lacking in people skills or ambition to make it a good store. i do have to say that the fish i get there are usually better than average. it wouldnt kill them to get a frag table and lower their drygoods prices. a few "little" things like that could really make a splash-pun intended!

that struck me a cheesy as well. I don't think it fools too many people.

I was also sold a defective calcium monitor. I opened a dispute with my CC company after pay pal was unable to do anything and they just notifed me that the seller said he never received the item. This guy in my eyes is a flat out crook after reading more and more i see how many people became victims. He has something coming to him my CC case has been reopen i have to fax over the tracking number info. I did send him a message last night and he did respond have you had any communication with him plan-b

There is NO excuse for not following through, regardless if one said they would pay, or one sold an item. In today's electronic world, there is ALWAYS a way to get a hold of someone to finalize a transaction. Lack of communication is never acceptable. It's only takes a minute to respond, follow up or refund some money.

And this is so dame true he nailed it right on the head. Before the deal when he wanted to get paid communication was at a all time great now you hear from him every couple of days if that. He is also selling one item to more then one person. For example when he sold me the calcium monitor he said he had only two to sell so why did he accept payment for three people. Things dont add up and if he such a stand up guy why hasent he tried to clear up his name. All these posts and not one by him.

Why dont the mods ban him from reefcentral i was told he is still selling on the used forum. Isn't this thread enough to ban him. Also for all those that he scammed i would probally take it to the next level leagally, good luck.

I have to say that D&G is trying to improve their coral selection. Baby steps...yes, but still they are getting there. They have been getting in some nice local aquacultured corals.
