Any shooters on here??

Fellow reefers - I am going to be heading to Angeles range this Thursday. If any of you fine folks want to join me that would be really awesome. I need to sight in the new AR upper I got a few months back as well as test out the STG.

My niece's husband Keith, that was on the show "Top Shot"...has some videos on YouTube of his marksmanship!

I would not suggest a 'showdown at high noon' against him!

BTW...my niece/his wife has a SW tank...

use to GMG in the NAVY. Got to play with everything from .38 to 5" guns. never got to play with the 16". Favorite was the .50 BMG.

I have a collection of .40s from Glock and Sig.

Only long barrel I have is a Mossberg 590 Marine. But the first time I shot it I was with a friend with a new Semi Benelli 12ga and I was so spoiled by his gun and disappointed with the Mossberg that I put it away and haven't shot it since.

Dave Benelli is the way to go. Though I favor 9mm over .40. Dunno why. And Sigs. Love Sigs....

This thread should not be on this site. Personal opinions aside regarding guns, this is a reef site, not a gun site. Just because you like guns and reefs does not make a reef site appropriate to talk about guns. Go and post this stuff on a gun lovers site. I have other interests besides reefs but I do not post them on this site. I post on an appropriate site. I recommend the moderator close this topic.

Thank you for your opinion but no.

This thread has been exceptionally peaceful so far and there is zero reason for it be closed at this point in time. The occasional off-topic thread is quite welcome.

Now, back to your regularly scheduled thread. :)

Most people on RC SoCal have met eachother and by sharing multiple hobbies will only cause our online community to grow more. I'm not saying let's turn RC into a gun and reef site. If you haven't seen people post about the new halo video game or call of duty you haven't been on any forum very much sometimes we like to talk about other interest along with reef keeping. It's not bad. It's just something to talk about that holds our interest. That's all.

I like guns, but they scare me at the same time.

I shot a 50mm desert eagle at a Vegas gun range once. It was the first and only time i shot a handgun. I shot only 5 rounds, one hit dead center bulls eye, a second round hit the bulls eye too. The worker dude said he's never seen that before. Nintendo duck hunt finally paid off!

I shot a full auto m-16 at the same range. I didn't even bother aiming. I just wanted to see what it felt like to empty a clip. I started out facing forward and I ended up almost perpendicular! Talk about pull! Btw, it cost me like $100 just to shoot those two guns!

Thank you Cody!

+1000 for Cody.

Solitude- thats a sweet Colt you have. My first handgun I bought was a Springfield Loaded 1911. It is by far my most favorite pistol. Looks like you got some hydrashok's in the mag. Have you tested them out in your pistol? Gold dots and rangers are also very excellent rounds.

Yes thanks all you guys for supporting it. I know it's not fish related but we all are. There for it's now fish related :).

I was actually thinking of selling some .308 to fund a blue squamosa purchase until my girlfriend changed my mind. Why do our hobbies have to be so expensive? :lmao:

Good eye on the hydrashoks. No I haven't tried them out yet, I just got them the other day. I'll definitely be testing them the next time I'm out at the range. I was also looking for the Critical Defense as well. I've read good things about them.

I actually just happened to stumble across my Colt. I as at the store with my wife and we were buying her a stripped AR lower and it caught my eye. Rarely do I see Colts and I just had to have it. The Springfield Loaded was on my list as well but I very happy with my Colt

Ya I was thinking of selling my 7mm to buy some LEDs (this is not a FS posting so please don't give me another infraction for bringing it up lol) but yeah they're both expensive hobbies and it seems to be that we will sell anything to get something for the other lol

Anybody shoot .223s? Where do you shoot?

for you the closest best options are oaktree or angeles. Both are Santa Clarita-ish ranges.

I'm not sure about the indoor ranges in the valley, but LAX by LAX will allow .223, but it's only 25 yds......
