Gary, chill, we all understand the point you're trying to get across. Me using these guys and talking about my experience is no excuse for you running a crusade in my thread. I respect you as a reefer and respect your years of trials and tribulations beyond mine. I use LFS, this is the first time I used fllr, was just asking if anyone else ever used for insight on customer service. Not for a book on the subject matter.

If you really respected Gary for his reefing abilities you wouldn't have posted this. We have all been down the fllr road before with the same outcome and it's never a good one sorry.

Great thread guys. VERY helpful. There's nowhere else we'd be able to know what's going on out there without this kind of intercourse.

my apologies.
IMO one must evaluate what's more important to them: ethical practices that sustain reefkeeping or upsetting the integrity of this thread.

The way that FLLR peddles livestock is bad for everyone and everything (ie:the reef animals) involved.

I understand there have been several businesses in the past similar to fllr that ended badly. So by all means warn others of those businesses and the possibility of fllr being the same but dont say that this particular business is definitely ANYTHING after you admit to never having any dealing with them what so ever! let the members or anyone who has ever used finger lakes live rock chime in (which happens to be name of this thread) without the feel that they may be harassed by other members as it has happened in the past with some of the same members. Being that you are a veritable library of knowledge in the hobby and very respected in your experience i think that because of your reputation you commenting blindly on this particular company already bares weight and may cause damage to a company or person that doesnt deserve it... Yet! there are many online vendors out there that i have seen members rave about such as cherry corals and foster smith. They had to start somewhere and so does fllr. Cut them some slack or i know you wont order from them so maybe go check out their operation and then with your experience give us some viable feedback. Im all for another local company for this hobby that is both respectable, personable and dependable. If it doesnt happen that is a shame. If it does then great for all of us.

Gary, I asked for the thread to be unlocked so I could publicly apologize to you. I was a bit overzealous myself when I made my last post. My attentions weren't to make it sound as antagonistic as it was. I understand your concern for the well being of reefing and reef livestock, I too wish no harm upon these creatures we covet. Sorry for my brashness.

apology accepted

apology accepted

and I apologize as well.
I think we can all learn a thing or two from each other. There are "lurkers" and people outside of URS and RC that have had dealings with FLLR. I would encourage everyone to reply to these types of threads with their experiences.

A search of RC will reveal past problems.
