anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

ok I took the plunge after reading all the good reviews and got one of this pump for a 90 gallon and I'm pretty impress with the flow. I also got 2 sensor with the pump, one came in a small zip lock bag and the other came in the seal bag usually seen with computer electronic parts. The one with the small zip lock bag didn't work like it suppose to, in low light it would goes into low flow and in complete darkness it would turn the pump back to the old setting. Then I try the one in the seal bag and it works prefect...complete darkness and it goes into sensor. This is a great pump with good flow, good price and a lot less noise then the mp40. It was making noise as loud as mp40 the first day then after then the noise went away the next day. The only thing is it's not controllable as the mp40 but I just put it on else mode and call it a day with the random flow. So far so good, as long as it last a few years this would be a good investment. Probably going to get one more for the other side.

I dont want it to be perfect. Just dont want them to be exact at all times. Wait 5 min then turn 2nd wp40 on? Wait 30min?

Try the Koralia smart wave, thats how I'm running the two I have on my 125g and I'm happy.

How did you get the night sensor working?

Im trying to mount them on back glas rotated sideways so there for will not be straight hopefully that will quiet them down. How bout else mode noisE?
neither one of mine came with a sensor. not the one that works and not the one that was smashed

It's super easy to sync them without a secondary controller and yes they stay in sync. Go to low mode. Set the knobs to the same spot, all the way left, middle, right. Wherever just make sure there in the same spot. Then wait for it, hit mode at the same time. That easy did it 4 days ago and mine still stop and start at the exact time.

Seedlessone, you mentioned earlier you could find these cheaper than fishstreet or us sellers. I am still waiting to find out where. Thanks. Brandon.

Taken down from the source site over the weekend for some reason.

Also isn't L mode just constant low flow?

Correct L is constant. You need to hit the mode button from L toW1 at the same time. Me like and idiot was unplugging them and then trying to plug them in at the same time. Then my common sense light bulb went on, tried the method i described and it worked perfect. Only reason you put both in L is so you can go to w1 with a button push on each unit at the same time.

Well I thought the sensor works but it actually does not work with total darkness but one thing I notice was when I put my finger over the sensor or hold the sensor then it works. Kind of weird. Wonder if they even test it before selling it.

I noticed today they lowered the price to $75 and are now selling their own voltage regulator for it. $10. I have mine a couple of weeks now and am happy with it. Powerful and quiet.

If FS is now selling variable power supply for the WP40 (also for the coming WP25), does it mean using lower voltages to adjust the pump speed is recommended and safe for the pump?

High demand usually means higher price but FS is lowering the price by $10. Go figure!

The lowest price that was out there was from AliExpress (if I'm not mistaken).
It is still on AliExpress, but the price is now $90 with $58.33 shipping totaling $148.33

The same happened with my night sensor, wouldn't work when all the tank lights were out and there was just ambient room light, but when I covered the sensor with my finger it worked. Now that doesn't even work. It needs some dim light very close to it for the night sensor to work. I have my moonlight led, someone else had the orange switch from a power stip.

i got an email about a sensor kit?
http://www.fish-street.com/jebao_wp-40__wp-25_sensor_kits
what is the difference with the sensor we got with the pump i wonder?

and the voltage supply adapter is now able to be used on the pump???
http://www.fish-street.com/product_details.php?item_id=597

these are now both accessories for the pump on fish street website.
The sensor kit is a replacement for the sensor that should have come with the pump. it's $1 an d $1 to ship. They tried to sell me that when Jebao told me to have them send me a new sensor. the fact that they are selling the variable PS would lead you to believe that it would work without effecting the lifespan of the product, but on the other hand they told someone on this forum that reducing the voltage will decrease the lifespan. The safest way to go is PWM control either with a stand alone board or through a controller like Apex or RA. I found what seems to be a very similar board to the one SimonSKL had posted on this thread on EBay for $5.99 and $.99 shipping.
Search for DC 12V-24V PWM Stepless Motor Speed Controller 3.2A

Fish-Street.com also has a link to an English manual now.

I was doing some searching on the web and came across this on another forum...

For those that care, I was told that the Jebao WP-25 will be available by the end of next month.

"My name is Wystan from Jebao, nice to know you ,
the WP-25 will be available by the end of next month,
Also may I know your company name or website ?thanks!"

This was posted March 27th so the end of next month would be the end of April.

If that is the case prob have to start another thread for the Wp25s for sure. I am sure the price point will be prob half of the current one. Which other people have said before. :) Have to wait and see.:bounce3:

I read in some of my finding $50, but I don't know about that.
I have an e-mail into Jebao now to see what they say about release date?
I'll post if I hear anything.

I definitely wouldn't do it. It would be like running your car electronics at 6v so your stereo doesn't get as loud when you really just need a volume adjustment through the radio itself, or something like that.

10k pot verification

10k pot verification

I've spoken with someone over at jebao. I help out with a local fish store and the owner is German, doesn't speak so good english.. Anyways, over at Jebao they speak good english, I was told they have a 1 year warranty.. I would bet that their warranty process works like many other companies - they don't want to deal with the end user because it takes too much time and cost dealing with individual RMA's. What they want to do is get a box periodically with a bunch of RMA stuff and replace it to the dealer/wholesaler. It costs real money to have staff unbox junk and test dozens or hundreds of boxes, and send out new. It also adds a line of "defense" against getting working product returned as defective for no reason, which is a HUGE problem for retailers here.

Jebao works like many other chinese manufacturers, in that they don't stock anything. When you order, that's when they make your stuff. They do sell replacement parts (which my friend will be stocking).

Anyways, the pump has built in flow control, you just need to add a $2 potentiometer to "unlock" it. something like a 10k pot, with the middle lead going to the "VA" input on the pump, one side of the pot to ground and the other to the VA output from the controller chip. :deadhorse1:

Has anyone verified that using the 10k pot on the VA line will work?
