I ordered a Vortech MP40 about a year ago. Shipped to New Zealand it cost about 650 USD. When it arrived I set it up and minutes later, the wet side wore down and was making a horrible noise, I removed it and checked it, I found that the magnet was rubbing against the back plate and the bearing had some how immediately worn down. Annoyed, I ordered another wetside for around 100usd plus 20usd shipping to new zealand. A month later it arrived and I set it up. Again the same thing happened. So all up I had spent $770 USD and months waiting on this hunk of **** that is the worst hunk of **** i ever brought. I sold the Vortech to someone for $80nzd and to be honest I dont think theyre even worth that. Bottom line. Even if this pump only lasted 1 month, it would be better than the vortech and still 400$ cheaper. Ive ordered it cant wait to try it!
I want to say ecotech has a warrantee on their wet sides. Could have saved you some cash

sorry not to familiar with forums and/or their rules. new member here, i have ordered a WP-40 and will review once it arrives. thanks.
I would like advice from those who have purchased a WP40, whether I should purchase 1 WP 40 or two WP 25's. They will go in a 110, 48 x 18 x 30. I am concerned about the WP40 producing to much flow. I primarily keep SPS with some LPS and Zoa's. Thank you in advice for your feedback.

Please get back on topic Of Jebao WP40 not about MP40
I hate to see this thread close
i have a 48x24x14 with a wp40. it produced too much flow so i had it run on L mode and it was fine. today my universal adapter arrived and im running it at 15v and W1 mode now. seems perfect with the much smaller waves its making. i have another sunsun 5000l/hr wave maker at the back blowing at rocks the wp40 cant reach. generally i think if you have an open island/simplistic scape. you can get away with a wp40 + a smaller normal wavemaker.

I have a 90G( 48 1/2 x 18 1/2 x 25 3/8) and love the WP40 on full 24V. I also have an 1150 & a 1500 koralia(that will be replaced by WP25's eventually) flowing behind my rock work.
I run it on else mode & have no issues with sand storms or too much flow. One of my clowns likes to "surf" the end of the stream at night when just the blues are on.
I'll probably end up pointing one of the WP25s towards the front (opposite the WP40) as I wont need that much flow in behind the rock work.
I keep mainly zoas & LPS with a few sticks, but im prepping to make the switch to majority SPS with a little zoa garden in the corner. but I still have great growth on my zoas & lps despite all this flow.
