anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

I received my WP-40 today, and I cannot be happier. The flow is great, and its all I will need in my 90 gallon. I have a mixed reef with a few softies on the opposite side of the tank and I love how they sway in the tank. My only little gripe is the light sensor I ordered doesn't say in place very well, so I'll have to trim the wire ends down a bit and hopefully I don't have to solder it in.

I have a question about power supplies. If a different 24V supply is used, does it matter if the supply can supply much more power than the stock power brick? I'm assuming the pump will just take what it needs, but I don't know.

Power, meaning voltage or current? It will only take what current it needs, but it will supply the output voltage of the power supply no matter what. You could fry stuff, mainly the motor because the voltage would be passed through straight to that. I don't know the limits of the motor.

The controller has a voltage regulator to drop it down to 5V for the IC and dimming signal, increasing the voltage through this shouldn't break the controller, but it will cause the vreg to burn off excess voltage, creating more heat.

The power supply is constant voltage and variable current. As rrasco said it will vary the current (amps) until it reaches the power requirement (watts) the pump is drawing. No danger of burning up the pump unless you exceed the 24v limit (with a different power supply)

The site wont let me delete my previous post but there is a adjustable power supply you can buy with the wp40 which allows you to vary the for the pump.
Check you the fish-street site for more detail

This item is only For Jebao WP-40 / WP-25 Replacement Pump Opertation Power Supply Only

Specification

Power 110V to 240V Voltage

Can Set for 12V /15V /16V /18(18.5V) / 19(19.5V) 20/21V / 24V Voltage

Customer can adjustable to Power Supply voltage on the Pump if too much flow

It's my understanding that if your PS is 24V, it won't hurt a thing if it puts out more amps than the pump is calling for.

A 24V PS putting out fewer amps than the pump is calling for is a whole nuther story.

I finally have my WP40s connected to a controller. I have them running in a mode similar to reefcrest. My window of power is 15-45%, they ramp up and down in this range. Anything more than that and some of my LPS start getting thrashed around.

Great. I didn't have the time to set mine up this weekend. Plus I'm having problems uploading the code.

Video???

So does the variable power supply that they sell with the pumps now let you use the wave modes but just limit the maximum output or does it just turn it to a mainstream powerhead with reduced output?

It allows you to run the modes from the controller with a limited maximum output.

This one correct? Want to make sure before I purchase. Idk where I read but someone said that it just turns them into a regular powerhead and you can't run the modes.

The variable power supply that is sold for the WP40 is not from the manufacturer. It allows you to decrease the speed of the pump so the flow is not so violent. You still have all the different modes.

Which part would you like to see? Flow?

Yeah. Flow. You have a modified Reef Crest going?
I'm not sure what mode I'm going to use yet.
I found code on the RA web site that will have one mode for 2 hrs and then switch to another pre-determined mode.
