anyone tried to using Jebo WP40?

Considering picking up one of these as a supplement to my 2 Vortechs. How much are they going for nowadays shipped to the US?

so is everyone stuck on using W1 mode? When mine comes in i think im going to use ELSE

I use it because my CL (OM$ with Revolution heads) and sump return pump (thru a SCWD and spraybars) both do very random flow and I like getting a more wave like motion. If I was using just the WP40 to make motion, I could certainly see using the else mode.

I run else mode. Mine made nice waves in my 75, but it wasn't pushing detritus nearly as well as my MP40 did on lagoon or reef crest mode so I put it on else mode. Look at all the MP40 users, the first thing they do is put it on wave mode for a week or two, get tired of it, then throw it into reef crest mode. Waves are cool, but not nearly as effective in my opinion. Still a nice trick for when your friends want to look at your tank though.

I recently put my WP40 in my 46g bowfront on quick pulse (knob turn all the way to the left), and it was fine. I didn't feel like the water was going to splash out. It was place halfway down the bottom and pointed slightly up. I think the 46g (3ft long) would love this flow if it was full of SPS.

IMO 3ft long tanks are ok with 1 WP40 if its SPS or high-flow loving corals only.

I'm considering getting another WP40 for my 120g :P

Discovered something about this pump today that makes me actually like it more than my MP40. You can easily pop it out of its holder and use it to blow your rocks out. I used to use an old Koralia for these duties, but the Jebo blows out detritus like no other! My tank looked like a snow globe after I was done.

While doing this, I also discovered the pump is almost completely silent when out of its holder. I think what noise the pump does make is actually vibration between the pump and its holder. I'm betting if I cut a thin rubber sheet to fit between the two it would be much quieter. This would however make it more difficult to adjust the pump's position and pop it in and out. Anyone know where I can find some thin black rubber to try this? I'm thinking 1/16"-1/8" thick.

What about putting this thin rubber pad between the holder and the glass?

Well, the holder already has the rubber isolators between the magnet part and the holder part, so that should be good. I think the holder itself just needs some sort of insulation from vibration.

with all these views and post, im REALLY curious as to how many are being sold?

fishstreet has to be banking right now!

What is even more amazing is the overall satisfaction of this first generation pump. Except in isolated incidents, we haven't seen general failure of this pump so far with increasing number of users. Some of us have been running this pump for almost 2 months. There is no reason to believe it will not last 1-2 years.:bounce3:
