i received a bad power supply they shipped a better model the variable unit they sell
out the next day to replace it

too bad about the impellar

It is quite unusual to see a ceramic shaft broke like that. Looks like that's all you have to replace. How long have you been running your WP40?

I thought so too. It's like it moved forward somehow. Haven't heard from FS yet, the probably have weekends off. It's been running since the beginning of March.

Nice. It would be cheaper on both you and them to send a new impeller, but if that;s what they want to do good for you. :)

What do u guys think about a wp-40 in a 40 breeder? Its a bare bottom tank and I wouldn't mind the size cause it will be against the back glass. I know I would need a controller to dial it down just like the thought of massive amount of flow so I never have to siphon the bottom or blow out the rocks ever again.

I think it's over kill, but if you want it for the reasons stated above then it will probably be fine.

A 25 would probably be good too.

Not copying anyone

Not copying anyone

Is anyone else put off by thee fact that they named it "wp40"... Like cant they come up with an original name? On one hand i want one... on the other i dont want to support a copy cat company out of china... but maybe thats just me.

If you look at Jebao's naming convention this falls squarely in line with their other products. It is just a coincidence that it is similar to the MP40.

Have anyone plug the wp40 to APC ups ? How long does it last ?

I guess it depends on the size of the battery in the UPS. However, using UPS as battery backup to a DC pump is not very efficient as it has to convert DC to AC and then to DC again for the pump. Most UPS batteries probably will not last more than an hour running the WP40 at full 24V. Vortech's backup battery is 12V at 18amp and it is supposed to run their MP40 for up to 30 hours. Most UPS batteries are no where near that capacity.
