Yes! Only thing i can say about it that is good is the small footprint!
Other than that Pure Junk for the money.

haha ya im looking for something with a small footprint I think I will make my own skimmer, when I built my sump I must not of been thinking strait that day and mad my drain just big enough for my POS skimmer. good excuse for another DIY project
thanks

What size tank you have and what is the footprint you need?
I might be able to hook you up with a skimmer.

circusink22,

I have a Bubble Magus BM100 that has a 7 by 11 footprint! if you could move a baffle in your sump and make a little more space! its a great little skimmer rated for 150 gal. I had it on my 90 for about two weeks and this little skimmer works worked great.
Its on e-bay right now but i can just pull it off if you need it.

well, you sound pretty handy, I would really consider just picking up a used tank for a sump and making the baffles the right size...otherwise dremel out your existing baffle to accomodate a decent skimmer. I'm liking the new bubble magus meshwheel NAC6 skimmer for $138 (newest version of the bm100)
for a cheap, good design, good power skimmer (500lph).
Of coarse there are better though.... :)

the reason I had to build a sump was to ensure the tight fit in my bowfront stand. I only have 10 inchs from the front to the back of the stand.most tanks are 12" wide . I was just looking at the octo NW110 the 2009 model I think it might fit.

i was just actually looking to post about the marineland pro 300, worked for about 2 months and now it is junk!!!!!!!!! it even flooded my stand while i was at work one day. horrible skimmer. should of bought the octo

the tunze 9010 w/650lph of air from a post pump venturi is probably right on the boarder of being just enough for the 55g if you like sps or high bioload. but with the outlet attached it's like 7.5 x 5.5" so it would fit in your sump.
As mentioned, price is an issue scince it's like $370 and there are so many other skimmers in that price range that are better...but the tuze 9010 would work pretty decent. Plus, roger at tunze usa offers some of the best customer service available! so there is that consideration as well.
