Apex Firmware Update - 4.12 Beta

My conductivity also needs to be calibrated...

Yes, I think I mentioned this earlier in the thread; one of the fixes was to a math function affecting conductivity readings. You will need to recalibrate.

This calibration thing is proof positive that Neptune needs to provide more details of what's changed, fixed, etc. with each and every firmware build, beta or general release.

The cursory notes in the readme.txt just don't cut it.

I just upgraded my firmware to 4.12_2A12. The firmware upgrade went fine. When I click on "Update Web Pages" I see a couple files upload in the progress window but then it stops and says:

"The underlying connection was closed: The connection was closed unexpectedly."

Does anyone know what this means? My web interface does not get updated.

Just to check I went ahead and reloaded my original firmware 4.01 and I also reloaded the webpages. Those worked fine. I tried 4.12_2A12 again and the firmware upgraded but the webpages errored out again. I also connected my Apex directly to my laptop to make sure it wasn't something weird with my router.

Maybe try another firmware like 4.1 and then try 4.12.

Just a thought.

well I have been on the latest release for a few days and jut now I could not access the web controller via the browser. ping was fine. I had to telnet in and reboot.

after that I could access.

I want to say this happened once before with the beta earlier in the week. Only been running the beta and now the latest since last weekend.

I went ahead and followed the post above that noted:

option under
System---->Net Setup ----> Aquaserver Setup
Make sure it's set to "Off".

I will see if this works.

Anyone have info on what this is for and why it is defaulted on?

thanks,

Mike

Yes, would like to see that as well, Misc Bug fixes is pretty broad as well. Would be nice to know what bug fixes were fixed.

It's a future product that Neptune is working on. There was a problem a while back where if your controller tried to talk to it, it would hang. That's been fixed so it really doesn't matter whether it's off or on but off is probably safer.

Where do I get older copies of the firmware?

Neptune can help of course but I have all of them as well. Send me a PM with the version you want and your email address and I can send it to you.

Thanks. Then maybe there is still a bug. I have had two lock ups (where I could not access via browser) in a week with 4.12. One with the beta and one with the final release.

I turned it off last night and now will see if I get any lock ups.

thanks,

Mike

Hi, just upgraded to the latest firmware and just wanted to let everybody know that it fixed my conductivity probe problem. Its right on the money now with my refractometer.
Thanks

So is the overall consensus that the new firmware is worth updating for everyone using an Apex now, and is stable for the general user?
