April 2013 end zone FTS

I've been searching a long time for a "special coral" to go in that bottom foreground. I love hammers and Junior doesn't bother them.

I wouldn't mind hearing suggestions from the masses.....

What happened to Junior's tail? It looks like a healing cut through the peduncle and up into his body.

That 'nem sure is purdy!

thanks- I agree the anemone and it's fish are a centerpiece!

Junior is showing the results of success. It's ironic. Everything in my aquarium is growing and space is at a premium. The Emperor won't hesitate to get sideways right into/above the corals in order to snap up big chunks of food- he has no choice because the smaller fishes can easily get into the tight spots to eat food.
It results in Junior getting tattered fins. I also can't help but think I'm not feeding him enough (or a varied enough diet) but I've NEVER seen his hunger satiated and he gets a wide variety of foods. (He's eating as I type this).
I also think the malfunctioning heater caused some stress in my aquarium.
This Emperor has grown larger than many others I've seen in captivity.

mr. m- that's a REALLY nice coral (Sinularia?)
I don't really have any "soft corals" in my reef aquarium.
I don't know how my current fishes would treat that coral.

Years ago I had that same green coral and my African Flameback Angel destroyed it. Do you have any Angelfish with it?

In my opinion that area lacks a nice closed brain coral. Think goniastrea, pletigyra, favia, montestrea. Something like around boulder with moon or maze patterns.

Second that, a massive growth form coral would look great there!

I posted on the soft coral forum, everyone said Nepthia, or at least what they all are calling Nepthia. This is third generation from a piece I got from Sanjay. It's amazingly colourfull; even in nsl it's vivid yellow green, and adda tons of movement.

Have you ever been stung by it? That looks suspiciously like a critter that came in with a Pacific shipment at a pet shop I worked at back in the 80's that I transferred by hand, which immediately was covered by little red marks everywhere the organism touched me. 6 hours later I was doubled over in the can praying to the porcelain God.

+1 A nice colorful platygyra growing into a nice big round colony would look nice there.
