Aptasia

They are in a 29,

I took Travis' idea of a dedicated 29 to a pair of clowns and the bubble tip anemone, however I now have 2 anemones and the clowns don't not only don't use it, they shun them, but they like the flowerpot I put in and are about to lay eggs.

what clowns and what anemone Gerald.

Lots of tank raised clowns will not take to an anemone at all.

Paul.

i think the best luck you would have with percs are carpet anemones, but thats also hit and miss. My percs dont go near my bubbles (RBTAs) either, but live in a hammer coral.

Infact Paul T. posted a pic of one of them in the hammer.

here it is:

Well here is their tank;

I know tomtato clowns will use BTA and I think Nikki said her maroon clowns used hers.

I will not fill this reply with all my related experience with premnas biaculeatus (4 1/2" tip to tail more or less) and aptaisia and perlscale butterfly. Currently the score is maroon clown 3, BTA 0. Aptaisia 2 PSB 0.
I don't know the specifics of the butterfly(s). They both seemed fine until all the aptaisia were gone, then they ended up on the bottom. I saw one eat during the general feeding, but the clown (and to a lesser degree the yellow tang) seemed to harass it.

I'd like to try a heartier anemone (heartier than a bta?) when I get my nitrates down, but I think it would need to be at least 8" across.
I wonder if maybe I have reached the limitations of a 75 gallon tank.

Tony
