aquamaxx ConeS CO 1 skimmer review

Somewhat off topic . If anyone wants to sell their co1, please contact me. I have been on back order wait list for a while

Right at the white rim...so about 9 inches?

give it some time. It will settle down.
are you running the stand pipe wide open?

Placed it w aquarium specialty

I'll see if I can get some current info regarding ETA to the states from Larry at Aquamaxx. He has always replied quickly to my e-mails for some reason. They are extremely tardy with this next shipment. I've got a bad feeling that JNS may not be letting aquamaxx re-brand them and do their thing with the pumps anymore. That's just speculation though so we'll see.

I am looking at this skimmer vs. a Reef Octopus 110 Classic with a pump that uses only 9 watts! What benefits would I get with this skimmer over the Reef Octopus 110 classic?

Thank you!

Hi meshwheel

I've only seen the reviews on MD but it seems like it getting off to a good start with reefers. The design is almost identical to the bubble king mini line. I'm sure the tolerances are a bit different but it looks good.

I had a BK 160 mini and did not care for the short transition from body to cup. This (RO 110) has a smaller body & neck so that might help the RO skimmer to produce more concentrated skim. My BK 160 only skimmed wet.

I dont know what the longevity/durability will be of the aquatrance pumps but I would say go for it.

sorry,

forgot! the benefits of the CO1 would be the proven build quality, proven reliable/quiet pump and skimming performance. Now getting your hands on one is another story!!

No its partially closed. Water/bubble level is about where the cup attaches to the body. It has gotten a bit better, but its still putting out crazy bubbles. Guess I need to be more patient!

how long has it been running?

is it the JNS version or the AM version?

Love that avatar by the way!!!

That dude cracks me up when I see him on documentarys. He seems pretty normal. But the hair?? Whats with that hair???:lolspin: That's on purpose I'm sure!!

JNS has another row of pins on the impeller

other than that, identical

My JNS only has two rows...same as your CO-1 from page one.
