It's all about tank size. The more room the fish have to move around in and to hide the less aggression.

Here is my tank 344 gallon rimless 96x36x23 (600 gallon total). The structure on the left has alot of thick branch rock on the bottom forming a tee-pee like structure with alot of room in the center. The top portion is one massive rock shaped like a nuclear cloud which provides alot of shade. I have found that the two formations combined together provide a fish and invertabrate friendly habitat. My two cleaner shrimp bonded here and continually reproduce. Its sleeping quaters for many, and i believe the scotts fairy wrasse is one of those wrasses that do not like strong light as mine is almost always in the shadows.
One disadvantage however is lighting. As you can see in the pic, the rock does cast quite a shadow. I was thinking of moving the branch rock which would eliminate my tee pee and lower the cloud. This would provide more light and room above the cloud.
What do you think?

Could you use a few smaller rocks to support the teepee at a lower height but maintain the refuges beneath it that your tank inhabitants prefer?

I could probably spread the branch rocks outward to reduce the height.

Could you share the source of your stand & canopy?

Tank, stand and canopy came from Great Lakes Aquariums. We put the knobs on, but the stand is made of poplar and has one of their default stains (i think its called special red).
